I wasn't sure if this should go in the setup advice section or this beginners one. It's certainly a question from a beginner!
I have progressed from a mSX, CX3, mSR and recently a 120 SR plus a lot of time on a Phoenix sim. I am fairly confident on them with hovering and basic manoeuvre standard on the SR's. I have had both a Flasher 450 and a Flasher 250 tucked away for a bit ready to go. They have both been setup by my LMS and bound to my Futaba T12FG. As most of my opportunities at the moment are limited to indoor flying in a very large hall with the local club I am concentrating on the Flasher 250 which I tool to the club last night. None of the members are seasoned heli pilots but the main comment I got was that the rotor speed was far too high. I didn't have the nerve to lift it off so thought I would ask advice instead as there was a lot of conflicting remarks coming forth at the time. When the lad at the model shop set it up he did comment the head speed was high but it should be ok and make it all the more controllable which conflicted with last nights comments at the club. So opinions appreciated. And if I do want to reduce the rotor speed what is th best way to go about it bearing in mind I am using a 12FG. I noticed one of the knobs is set to throttle hover trim which is defaulted to 30%. This seems to give a bit to throttle adjustment at mid point (hover). Will this work or is it best practice to start adjusting the throttle curve to keep the speed down.
