You wont regret it. Money well spent IMO and you can always let the mrs have a go. You never know, she might get hooked as well

As a beginner I tried to learn to fly without Phoenix (all the posters say is absolutely true).

I've been using it for a couple of months now and am amazed just how good it is ( once it's set up correctly). It has saved me loads of frustration as well as money and I feel more confident about my own abilities. The model SR flys very similar to my real model, and has encouraged me to invest on a 450 or 500 model to progress further.

I genuinely believe that I would have packed it all in if it wasn't for Phoenix.

I don't post that much (don't feel I've a lot to say yet), but do feel qualified to offer a valid impression of Phoenix, enjoy your purchase.

Now with the buddie option it feels that more real than before, now I dont even need to go out to the field to fly anymore. Save's me tons in money and time.

ive had a few hours with phoenix (would like more but have duties!) and i'm pleased to say after all your advice, i've done the right thing.

ive tried things i wouldnt dare with the trex, because if i crash on the sim i can try again without cash and a rebuild.

the only critisism i have is some helis feel so different to the real thing, but i presume that may be due to my tx setup, and i guess learning a skitty heli, the real thing would seem more tame? i realise this hobby is all about patience and i'm prepared for practise and not expecting to be inverted next weekend

if nothing else, i can practise, practise, practise whatever the weather!

I let the mrs have a go on the sim, and all i can say is she is NEVER trying any of my helis!!!!

It will speed up your learning having phoenix set hard but also focus your learning into sets so 3 mins of tail in hovering then 3 mins side in then 3 min nose in and so on. If your having trouble on a move slow down the sim and gradually speed it back up.
                Phoenix is superb!!

I started out with a Buzzfly but by going on Phoenix (albeit practically forced onto it in the beginning lol) it has really built my confidence up with the bigger models. IMO the models are a lot easier to fly in real life than they are on the sim but it's a great investment nonetheless.

It is worth the money I'd say. Every penny.
I've was always a plank flyer (Slope Soaring mainly with a tad of IC) until I got Phoenix (I wanted to get into Heli's).

I found it rather tricky to begin with, and still do at times. But I've come on in leaps since I first started. I have put the hours in mind
For Plane and Heli flying it's second to none (I find it rubbish for Gliders and SlopeSoaring), put the hours in and you'll soon find yourself attempting to inverted for as long as you can

I'm still yet to actually purchase a heli though!!

                      Not so much.
Unfortunately, it is nigh on impossible to get two helicopters feeling exactly the same in flight. Because of this, the simulator models are setup to fly like a "happy medium" setup might fly. Your own thoughts about a happy medium setup will probably differ to other peoples as well, so it becomes very difficult to set up models to fit everyone out of the box.

If you need something faster or slower, or more or less of something, launch the model editor and have a go at tweaking a few parameters - or the new easy option (in Beta 3) is to adjust the simple model editor slider (dial).

                      Worth a look
                      Cheers,
