Carb retaining screws

Was in the process of cleaning the carb and I found one screw removed fine but the head on the other screw was quite damaged (looks over tightened). Any suggestions on removal?

If you can you need to try to cut a slot in the head of the screw with a Dremel and cutting disc.
Then use a flat blade screwdriver to get the screw out.

Will attempt dremelling tomorrow, will let you know how it gets on.

as said above, i've used this trick many times on rounded out bolts

Just go careful not to touch the casting itself - it won`t look very nice if you do.

Malc1, nods I understand the important of asthetics, it's part of my trade. Well for me anyway.

You might be able to get vice grips onto the head and give a little turn.

If you do go the dremmel route then cover the carb hole to stop anything getting in the carb

K removed the screw by dremmelling and now I could do with a new screw. Anybody know where one can by replacements?

M3.5 x 5 looks like a fairly standard metal thread.

Update, looks like Skyline Models stock them but Fastlads doesn't unless they have generic ones.
