  • Multiplex Cockit SX setting up 120 deg CCCP

Currently setting up my Mini Titan, I’ve had to digress from the manual to get this to work:

Had to use the reverse setting for direction i.e heli flying backwards, with this the left / right pitch was wrong so had to swap the servos around to get the collective pitch direction correct. Is this normal? Also at the end of the collective travel -10 - +10, which only uses 60% of the servo travel, the pitch commands are ‘flattened’ by the collective I assume this is OK and prevents the pitch going above 10 degs and the blade stalling??

    Need some reassurance here thanks!

Collective Pitch - swash plate goes up and down (level) with the left stick.

Cyclic Controls - the swash plate tilts with the right stick i.e. push the stick forwards, the swash plate tilts frowards, push the stick right and the swash plate tilts right etc.

At full negative and full positive collective (swash full up or down) yuo may well run out of channel travel if you apply full cyclic too. That happens on my heli.
eg with full positive collective and full up elevator as I apply full aileron the up going servo stops moving before the end of stick travel, while the downgoing one keeps moving to the end of stick travel.
Usually the starting point is 50% on the collective and 50% on the cyclic. That means when both cyclics are at 50% and the collective is also at 50% you have 150% of throw on one of the servos - but the system can only go to about 125%. As long as your servo isn't buzzing then nothing is going wrong.
Stick in corner and full collective is an unlikely and possibly blade stalling/motor bogging scenareo.

Thanks Guys, It looks like Multiplex needs to up date their set up for CCCP in the otherwise very good manual.

When I had my Multiplex 4000, I programmed my CCPM heli into from scratch using a blank model base. Wasn't that hard really, provided you understand the geometry of the swash plate, which is very simple in the case of the 120 degree system.
