If you can come out to near Heathrow, Little Harlington Flying field, few of us have Trex250's so I think you might change ya mind when you see some of what we've got.! & if the 250's dont do it then the 450 size ones will.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

the sim and dx6i seem like really good learning tools, will wait for the xmas sales and pick a set up then, untill then its just indoor flying for me i guess, just had a good session with my choppers just now, even the mrs got involved and flew them.

tourerjim that sounds good, will defo take up the offer sometime!

Once you have the sim and tx, you will appreciate the simulator time put in once you have the heli....The time in this hobby will be far more enjoyable!

By getting the simulator and transmitter first you will be able to enjoy yourself straight away. Phoenix is good fun as well as being an excellent learning tool.
If you just went straight in a bought a heli, you would only end up crashing it, getting frustrated and very pi**ed off.
The sim gives you the best of both worlds. Playing, having fun, learning and saving loads of money in repair costs
Its Defiantly the way to go

When you buy your Tx you need to make sure the correct mode in your Tx. Matin61 in this forum published a list of different types of Tx modes but I can't locate it now. So here is another version. Please remember, whichever mode you decide to use, the die will then be cast. You will have difficulty in changing from one mode to another. Mode 1 and 2 are most common:
