    Good heli for £100

    Good luck

    You could get a MCX or another contra rotator for that sort of money.

    Any "real" heli for £100 will be cheap and nasty.

    Best way to spend that money will be a good simulator.
    This way you can learn to fly before you try it for real. Phoenix sim is the most popular for heli pilots.

    Im not saying you need to spend thousands but to get something half decent that you can fly outside you will need more money than that. Even buying second hand you will need £300+ to get everything you need.

        Look in the for sale section, there is a twister storm going for around £80 I think, have heard good things about them. I had a King 2 and could not get it to fly wel at all, don't bother getting the radio kit for it, just get the storm instead. (think you will need rx and tx tho)

        Here's a link to it:
        http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/sale/2...m-3d-artf.html

        You do need tx and rx, but at £70 I think it looks ok, save a bit more and get yourself a DX6i and you're away!!

          twisters better than the honey bee!
          however i would still w8 a while and get maybe a trex 450 sport or second hand (some floating around atm) or maybe even a blade 400
          will get you started and altho there quality isnt as good as the trex it comes with a dx6i so then you can buy other models and use the same transmitter
          Matt
          Current = Blade mcpx v2 + DX6i
          Future = 1st - PL6 + PSU 2nd - Chase 360 3rd - DX9 4th - Who knows...there's too much choice

              +1

              Cheapest way to learn to fly if you have a suitable PC to run it on.

              If you really want a real heli first then you need to make sure you can not only afford to buy it but also repair it on a regular basis while learning.

              If the funds are available then great, if not then the sim really is good advice.

                  I got lucky on ebay with a Blade 400, with Dx6i and two lipos for £150 delivered which was a bargain, it needed checking over and a few bits had been repaired incorrectly but easily sorted for about a fiver in bits (new tail shaft, some head bits, and tail servo was fitted backwards), but there are bargains to be had.

                  Twister 3D is almost identical to the Blade400 (many parts the same), but I'd recommend a 2nd hand blade400 as the DX6i radio is superb.

                  Keep an eye on ebay for a bargain, and get someone to help check it over and test fly it for you, and you will be away.

                    2nd hand blade 400 with DX6i would be worthwhile. Will cost a bit more than £100 though probably. It's a great way to learn about collective pitch heli's.

                        For 100 spondooners a cheap transmitter and pheonix simulator is the best option

                        These heli's are tricky to fly for a newcomer,i had the blade 400 and crashed it loads.Go check out the Pheonix simulator at there webby

                            +1 for the blade 400, the sim will learn you the basics, but for me personally I didn't really learn until I flew heli's for real.
                            On pheonix I can hover inverted, but can barely do figure of eights on my raptor 30, again personally, its a false sense of security on the sim, you will learn the core elements but when you fly outside its a different ball game, mainly repairs.

                            A second hand twister storm rtf wouldn't be a bad start and would be cheaper than a 2nd hand blade 400.

                            But on the flip side, what I have found, is in this game you get what you pay for

                            Oh and don't buy 2nd hand from ebay if you can help it, its a lottery and i have been stung myself, buy off here, or someone you know.

                            cheers

                              Check out the Storm deal at leeds model shop, Not bad for £160 all in,
                              as others have said the Storm is much the same as the blade and comparatively cheap on repairs.
