Hi guys I haven't written anything for a while. Been so busy at work and home (bloomin DIY).
Anyway, the update is that I crashed my heli at lunchtime today, absolutely no idea why. I'm still learning to hover which I had managed a couple of times. Still get a little intimidated by the damn thing though just thinking about the forces travelling through those little plastic bits'n'bobs but I felt completely relaxed and ready to take off. Applied some power, had the pitch I was used to (i know this because i ran through a checklist everytime i started up and shut down the heli - good heh!), applied a little more power and WHOOOOSH! The tail flipped round quicker than I've ever seen a tail spin and before I knew it the heli barrel rolled into the dirt.
The only thing I'm happy about was the amount of damage that it did to the lawn. There's a big slice in a loverly arc and it's fairly deep too
No the annoying part is what do i do with it? I bought the heli pre built 2nd hand which is why i'm probably not THAT gutted. Problem I now have is although the damage doesn't look too bad there seems to be little bits of plastic 'missing' (i mean apart from the obviously things like the rotor blades and tail blades all need replacing) and I don't know what they are called as I didn't receive a handbook with it.
I'm thinking use it for spares. Electrics and gyro survived the crash. Boom is bruised, blades all damaged or missing lol, plastic bits 'gone'
, canopy smashed and useless and basically i want a better heli
Weirdest thing that snapped was the starter belt!!!
Oh, it WAS a HIROBO Shuttle by the way and it was my first. I think i tried to run before i could walk, but saying that i thought i was doing okay really until that glitch happened.
Any suggestions about wether to trying to fix this one or moving on? Bear in mind that it cost me just over £100 including radio gear...
