  • Not getting enough Power anymore

    Hi,

Im just learning to fly my T Rex XL HDE so am still at the hover stage! My setup is:

    Align 420LF brushless motor
    CC 25A ESC
    Futaba 401 Giro
    Futaba 6EXH
    1x Impulse 11.1v 2100mAH (16C)
    1x poly pro 11.1v 1800mAH 20C discharge 40C bursts.

I had one normal flight this morning. After changing the lipo I set out for another flight but the power dropped off and couldnt even get off the ground.

    ESC set to fixed throttle 0, 75, 85, 90, 100
    pitch set to 50, 60, 70, 85, 90

ESC is also set to auto Lipo which normaly cuts off at 10.5v

After the loss of power I checked both lipos and they were still above 12v

Just wondering if the ESC has given up! but as im a noob it could be anything!

I also did my end points with throttle at standard (0,25,50,75,100) with Throttle on full connected ESC and returned thottle to 0 to arm ESC.
    Any sugestions would be grateful.

    Cheers

    Hi mate,

Have you checked the connections from the Esc to the motor?
Did the motor or esc get abnormally hot?
    Cheers,

no the battery is warm the moter u can hold your finger on and the esc is warm, but on spool up there is hardly any power at all! My previos flights the day before and the one before the problem started were ok.

One of the three wires came off my motor last week and there was only a very small amount of power to the rotors because of it.
If You've checked everything including the esc settings mate, then I would say its either a fault with the esc or the motor..Most probably the esc.

But do check those connections, ie not loose or shorting on anything.
        Cheers,

        Gazza

Solved - it was the ESC! got 35A now, had to add 470uf capasitor and new receiver, cirrus recevier wasnt up to it.
