  • HelisimRC 'moving' with jerky image? Help?

Hi, I've just got a lead and it works with my DX6i fine but the problem looks like the software is not running well on my PC.

The image is very jerky, it is not smooth at all. One second the heli is on the ground and a second later it is smashed into the ground with no in-between images?

When I manage to get the heli in the air, it moves forwards in large jerky leaps, not a smooth constant flow (I've checked youtube and I've seen that this is a smooth running sim, so there's something not right).

Is this likely to be a PC problem? I've got a Dell running Vista, it's about 2 years old.

Any help or sugestions will be appreciated.

    Regards,

    Tony

it could be the graphics card in the Computer.

Best thing to do is to go into the program setup screen, or options. Change the graphics to low, and see what you get there.

This jerking is due to the graphics card not being fast enough to get a good frame rate from your simulator.

    cheers

        Thank you for your reply.

Do you mean on the Sim software or on my PC? I've already got the background resolution (on the sim) set to low.

          Sim software mate.

any problems give me a shout, will be happy to help.

Also lower everything to low, especially smoke quality, as this drains the ram loads.

          cheers

Vista robs your machine of alot of power! If you are able to overclock CPU and GPU it may help tho beware will void your warrenty

              Shay,

              Thank you for your reply.

Everything I can set to low (on the sim), I have. It is still running massively jerky.

              Any other ideas?

I haven't tried HelisimRC, but it does not really look like a very power hungry program. I would check that your OpenGL settings and play around with them.

You need to make the window smaller or run your desktop at a lower resolution.

If your desktop is running at high resolution and you maximise the sim window then its also running at high resolution.

Try and make the window for the sim much smaller and see if it works ok then.
If i does then you will have to make your desktop resolution lower so that you can run it smoothly at fullscreen.

run it in full screen mode at a lower resolution rather than windowed as running windowed will sap the framerate badly.

Even on the lowest resolution, it makes zero no difference? Even if I shrink the window down or have the sim playing full size, it is still mega jerky?

Maybe i should sell my PC to you :P and get a better heli lol

Seems like your PC cannot handle it,

But please dont overclock, 1 it voids your warrenty instantly, 2 you have to know what your doing, 3 you need to work out voltages ect, and it lowers the life span, not to mention heat issues. lol.
