problem with helis is that with most stuff cheap stuff is cheap for a very good reason. especially the small stuff. With conventional layout the time it takes for the gyro and servo to respond to torque changes. cheap stuff means big tail swings.

better to look at something along the lines of the twister bell 47 if you want to keep it small and cheap.

SMC are a good model shop but they have no idea what to sell new comers, I walking in in October and came out with a very unsuitable electric thing that nearly put me off the hobby altogether.

If you want to go electric get somehthing main stream like a Trex, Swift, Eolo even a Twister, ok not a Twister.

              Yeah I was

As tws said it's best to steer clear of the cheaper helis. Even the more mainstream ones can be a pain as far as parts go and the less popular cheaper ones can be a complete nightmare

Looks like a much better option than the Trex look alike

Its not over expensive..Transmitter is very basic and will need upgrading but you can of course sell that one..Doesnt say what gyro it is..

My experience of used helis is mixed, you can genuinely get a good bargain or you may get a donkey that has a knackered engine etc and will need further outlay..

Best advice is to let an experienced flier friend look it over and take him up on the offer to see it fly...

The trusty Raptor 30 is a good learning model and cheap to repair..

For that price,if its a good one you wont loose much money if you want to resell it for upgrading etc or it can be easily upgraded to a 50.
And it would be rude not to try and knock him down to £250 or something

                      I have a FF6 50th anniversary off ebay already

the gyro is a worry after reading on here that certain ones are much better than others.

.. and you're right - it would be rude not to

For £300 even if you need to replace the gyro it wont be the end of the world - CSM do make reliable stuff if a little fiddly to set up at times.

If it's a V2 model then all the bits will be a little newer and more of an attractive buy.

If it looks covered in oil, dirty wires hanging out all over the place and the engine is covered in baked on chip fat then avoid it - alternatively if it is clean and neat then it will probably have been well looked after.
