  • T-Rex 600...;. hmmmmmm

Well, looks like an outfit "overseas" is doing these beauties at £190 delivered... plus import duty and tax (+30% ish) so for about £260 they are offering a t rex 600 with servos, gyro, motor, ESC, regulator, lipos balancing charger etc.. . just no receiver it would seem

seems far tooooooo good to be true.. . worth a punt? - it's in Hong Kong, anyone ever got stuff from there before?

    mikey.
    I can hover(ish) - does that count??

    Hello Mikey,
There are several dealers in HK that I have had good deals with, so far never been charged any duty, you need to identify who it is so that others can comment on whether they are good or bad, wouldn't mind knowing myself so that I can add to my favourites list.

I looked at the ebay Honk kong deals and had decided they weren't cheap enough to justify the risk of import duty so please expand on where you are seeing these prices??

eBay worked out about £360 for a UK type kit delivered as far as I could see

If you ask them to mark the package as a Gift. You dont have to pay any import tax what so ever!

Importing a Complete heli is ok but considering the 600 is a new machine I would want the back up of a model shop in the UK. If something goes wrong then it's simply a case of taking it back. Your up sh*t creek without a paddle importing large items. This is why I stick to small stuff, parts a readily available for the likes of tried and tested engines etc. IMO anyway

Too cheap for a new model and with all those parts too ! It is a 50 size machine and needs good servos gyro battery and a good charger..........

If it looks too good to be true it proberly is just that !!

My supplier has sent out two sets of Align upgraded parts to me so far, with free post too, will they ??
Fly today, tomorrow it may be too late !!

ive had quite a few bits from honk kong and japan with no problems and never
                    any import duty
the reason for this is they mark it as a gift or toy parts and there is no duty to pay on either

as for ebay ive also purchased from there but always check they have plenty of sales and 100% feedback
if a seller hides his feed back just leave well alone they are hiding something

                        Just a thought guys
If we all bought everthing as cheaply as we could from overseas, many UK model shops would go out of business, then where would we go for the assistance when we needed it, I use my local model shop for nearly all my stuff, and that way dont have a problem getting a bit of help when required.
The guys that run it are both very keen flyers, and have a passion for the hobby, its not all about making money, but of course they have to make a living,
Remember, you never know when you might need a local shop to get you out of a fix.

                        Happy Flying Everyone

My LHS rarely have anything in stock I want, it's here within a few days if I order online UK or far east except far east will be cheaper.

I've told them countless time they are wankers for keeping no Trex blades(insert Trex part of choice here) in stock but do they listen...NO!!!... so most people who crash the Trex they bought locally go away and order online

They keep plenty of crap thats been on the shelves for about 20 years though just in case some old control line tosser comes in

went to my local shop... (Sussex Model Centre in Worthing) met a man called Marcelle (not sure if i've spelt that wright) and he showed my a very interesting heli.... he also seemed the know Ade from this site too... and my colleague jason markey

for £199. I get a T-rex clone. same size as the 450, looks well built, comes complete with servos, esc, gyro rx tx and lipo and charger... basically everything. Even a flight sim in the box!!!

this is the very best way to get a lot of "stick time" as I can run this in the garden.... learn quick and decide if it's for me. I liked it... so it's on my birthday list..

                              it's the artec falcon 3d...

so my happy face is back on...

while there I picked up an new esc for the b`oat as ours was over heating and cutting out - fitted it and it's superb... but £32.99 ...
