  • Retracts with mind of own??

Hi, Has any1 suffered a prob with retracts folding in and out on there own? When i fold them in after a few mins they fold out but very jittery and quite noisy?? When trying to fold back in it's like theres no power to do so, but it's fully charged battery?? any clues??

1st guess is a bad servo....

Have you tryed suspending the Heli and just had everything on (without engine running)
to see what happens putting the undercarriage up down? I'd also check all wiring and extension leads if used in the Heli.

If it does it only in flight could be vibration triggering something......

Hi thanks for reply haven't fired the engine up yet had it suspended giving it a final check ready for the off when it all started? There is extensions with a ripmax speed controller haven't checked them yet though??

You will have 2 servo's operating the retracts, one at the front for the nose wheel and one mid ships for the other two.

The first step is to trace the wires from both these servo's back to the receiver, they may well go through a "Y" lead which means ultimately they will both plug into the same channel in the receiver. Find out which channel this is, and then check the programming in the transmitter for the appropriate channel.

The transmitter side of things should be set such that the operation of a switch will raise or lower the retracts as necessary.

            I hope this helps.

            Cheers,
            Pete.

as others have said, first thing is to try to repeat the problem without the engine running. Hang the heli up and flick the switch and see what happens.

then you need to see if its just one wheel thats doing it or all of them.

yes 360 needs both wires. Sounds like you need somebody to give it a good checkover.

retracts shouldnt run through the speed controller

They should be in channel 5 or 7 on the receiver

Speed controller goes into channel 3

                            What is the Heli model?
