Hi all,
Like so many here it seems my good lady bought me a 2 ch indoor heli for Xmas and it's got me looking into the hobby abit more. I have a friend who flys and I used to race 1/10 cars erm... a few.. years ago so have been involed in RC before.
I've been reading some of the newbie posts in the beginners section and there's been some really good advice given. I was originally looking at a Blade CX2 or a Ripmax Minicopter, which I was recommended by a flyer on another (car) forum. I had looked at the Blade mCX but thought is was a bit on the small side but reading the threads and knowing I have not got a huge amount of space indoors I am thinking the mCX is probably a good place to start as the CX2 might be a bit big.
Will getting proficient on the mCX be enough to see me upgrade successfully to something like a Blade 400 or similar? Are all the controls the same as I noticed the mCX does not have a tail rotor.
I've already bought an FMS sim so, although not the best, I'm sure it will give me an idea of what the basic controls do and if it saves we one crash then it's paid for itself.
Anyway enough waffle, forum looks great and nice and busy too. Nothing worse than waiting 3 days for an answer.
Oh last thing, is there a thread or another place where I can find out about local clubs. I live in Berkshire and wouldn't mind meeting up with a few ilke minded folk who can offer advice on not crashing
cheers
Martyn
