Model flying has the reputation and it really is no suprise when you look at the sorry excuse of a publication the BMFA sent out the other day, I felt ashamed that some of my money contributed towards it.

You mean the little magazine they send out? Whats it called again?

I'm a "nerd" and proud of it :lol:
if nerd means, last year I got my first rc heli, an Eco7, joined a club,
met a great bunch of chaps, got a Raptor 50 passed the BMFA A cert and now have an FI carbon,
Oh yes and was asked to be on the club Committee to represent the Heli flyers

So yes I guess that "must" make me a "Grand Nerd" or someting,
but you know what!! I don't care,, because i've enjoyed every flight I've had
even pick up the pieces ones,,
what more could you want?? out in the open with the smell of nitro in the air
pushing your nerves to the limits!!

By the way, I think there's someting going on this summer called the world cup, apparently,, you have to sit in front of a TV for hours with a scarf and tee shirt on,
Think I'll give that a miss,,

I know - in our office they've put a huge printed colour planner up on the wall - with ALL the games on, times and places, and little white spaces to write in the scores 8O
Then at the end there's 2 spaces for the teams in the final - then after that one space headed 'WINNERS'

And I get called a nerd :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Well, looks like I've joined another forum of nerds, :lol:

at least this one looks more interesting than the other Ikarus forum
for the eco7,, its full of Germans,
not that I have anything against them, its just,, well,, because they make the Eco7 they think its the best thing since sliced bread, but I can assure them, with all the problems I and others have had with the heli, starting from getting it out of the box its not,,
I wish they'd change the sales pitch and say its not for first time heli fliers :evil:

Anyway enough moaning, charged up ready to go,, lets see what the weather does this weekend, :?

When i started flying rc, everyone at work said I was playing with toy aeroplanes. They were just too ignorant to understand the expense or complexity of it. Even now, I still get told I play with toy helicopters. Still it beats sitting in a bar getting trashed or in front of a television watching overpaid prima donnas chasing a round piece of cow hide.
