  • Which indoor Heli for practice

I am learning to fly a Belt CP (Upgraded with CNC & CF) but due to the british weather have only managed to go outside about 4 times in 4 months. At this rate I will never learn to hover for more than 5 sec's.

What would be a good option for practicing indoors that isn't too expensive, but will benefit me to practice with ?

    Cheers,

    Si

I agree with Eddie, Walkera 43, or Buzzfly (same craft)! Cool indoors, apart from the number of Pine forests indoors this month.

Maybe we should ask for video's of alpine rescue attempts?

Thanks for the help - I saw the Buzz fly but at over £100 it's not cheap. I may see what £ I get for Xmas. Are they easy to fly indoors ?

            Si,

You fly RC heli's and you don't think thats cheap? Better make sure your wallet is reinforced then, because your money will be busting its way out when you spot some new heli's/toys/gyros in future! LOL.

Easy to fly indoors, well I think so, but you may need to work at it. Very tough little heli really, bounces well!
            regards

What I meant was £100 was alot to spend on a 2nd Heli for indoors. I haven't even learnt to fly My beltCP yet and I have lready upgraded it to CF frame and all the CNC stuff available ie head and tail and bearing mounts. That lot was close to £200 on top of the initial cost of the heli and a further £50+ on repairs so far... not since I did the upgrade though,,,,phew ;o)

There you go, see what I mean! Look how much you have spent, even before you admitted you can't fly it yet!

You really don't need any upgrades to fly the W43, all I got was 1 extra battery, but you will need spares (tenners worth perhaps), motors at least! As Eddie says, get them from Terence @ Chinese Jade, cheap as chips and with quick delivery.

You may be tempted to buy a cheaper heli, but if you can't get spares when it breaks then that will be a total waste of money too. The W43 is supportable and you don't need loads of bling either, just buy it and fly it!

Totally agree. BUT the more I fly the Buzzflyer (Walkera 4#3) the less I like it compared to the 4#3A and 4#3B. These 2 ARE the ones to buy now - far better helis IMO and you'll break them less

If they are set up properly IMHO there is no difference.....I have a mixie blob of all three 4#3 series, not one Buzzflyer aka 4#3a/b has all the original parts and they all fly great, even built one from spares.

Bugster, I reckon they break less cos you are getting better mate
