Question regarding the governor (not sure if this is the correct thread).

As a newbie I have just received my super pro kit (deal too good to miss out on) having read through the build manual I see we glue in the governor magnets. Is CA glue the best for metal to plastic as per the manual? The set up instructions also say if one of the magnets falls off in flight the engine "will reduce" what does this mean? Will it fall from the sky all because of a 2mm magnet flying off.

I wrote a setup and part-review article on the Align governor which you might find useful.

If a magnet falls out, the sensor has nothing to sense so the governor will fall back to whatever throttle curve you have setup. This is a good argument for not setting 100% flat line throttle curves when using a governor.

      Cheers,

I believe it was a Futaba 3152. It could have been a DS821 though... fairly sure it was the futaba though.

              Airhead.

While you are still in the build process I would spend an extra tenner and buy yourself a metal Quick UK fan for your T-Rex 600.

The stock plastic ones have been known to warp.

                    Thanks for the help.

I had seen someware about the plastic fan having a problem and contemplated if this was worth changing. I will take your advice and invest in the metal fan. Found one for £20.00 unless anybody knows of a cheaper option.

                    Thanks

                      Rob,

I have read your test on the govenor as supplied with my kit and await your further tests to see how reliable it is. If the plastic cooling fan was warped and the magnets not remaining a consistance distance from the sensor, could this be the reason for your test results? I have noted your comments re-set up in case of failure.

As a newbie I will use the kit govenor and maybe replace if the reliabilty can't be sorted once I progress to more challenging manoeuvres.

                      Thanks
                      Andy
