Thanks. Wish I'd switched on the video today - seems I stepped back 3 weeks and had three real crackers in ten minutes

Just heard the local MFC are starting indoor flying tonight so I'm rushing to get ready. Can't imagine what it must be like to fly a heli in a large sports hall with no wind. Can't wait

Nice one, it would take me more than 7 weeks to clear the garage out let alone fly the HBFP

Boring ! Pah!!!! what do woman know !

Good on ya, looks like real progress. Once outside, time in the air rules and you'll soon wonder what all the fuss was about. One step at a time though...

Well I went to the local indoor flying meeting tnight and I was gob smacked. All the hovering I've done in the garage has been a fight. Constantly moving the controls just to stay reasonably stationary. Then I get into a massive sports hall and it's just like on Phoenix sim - does just what you tell it and hovers like it's hung on string. I even took the Neon Blaze and that was much the same.

I just love this hobby - it keeps getting better. Why have I been wasting my life till now doing things that seemed interesting at the time ?

I don't know why did you waste your formative years on all that sex, drugs & rock & roll?
I didn't find it quite as easy but it sure made a difference when I managed to fly my CX2 in a space bigger than my garage (which is about 20 x 13' but there are various bikes etc. hanging on the walls) it's surprising how much these things must disrupt the air around the heli. I didn't realise they would create enough down draft? to be affected like that.

when you fly this in alot more space you will see that your experience in the confined space helps ALOT.

Thanks htvjr. Yes it was incredible the difference flying in a large space. You don't realise the turbulence you set up flying in a small area. The other thing that I found strange about the leisure centre was height. I had never seen my Honey Bee above eye-height. When it went up 8 to 10 feet I was terrified for a while but then I realised if I stuck to what I had practiced it responded in just the same way - but maybe easier even.

I spent this evening checking over the Honey Bee and as I mark the batteries each flight I added up my flying time - reckon it's had 17 hours air time (excluding crashes ). Lots of bits are getting a bit giggly and loose so I raided the spare parts I bought with it and gave it a good service. Then I did a test flight in the garage and crashed it soundly within a minute .

Pride comes before a fall eh? Never mind I still love it and the next flight was a dream

Women ha! what do they know, personally I think you've done very well indeed, and your safety net surrounding your flying space is a blinding idea, and has surely saved a few shafts which has too be a good thing.

I've always loved the little rear light on the HB's, I've gotta ask is that purely for observational purposes or does it start flashing when the batt is almost spent?

I know we often steer people from these machines, and it's never personal bias, but with your weeks of knowledge building with the HB, your experience would be valuable to other flyer's seeking out the same machine.

Great video Bro, I look forward to see one with you flying her outside.

Thanks CF. I bought the low battery warning light off here.

They do them for up to really big batteries I beleive. When you connect them they bleep a couple of times then stay solid blue. After a few minutes flight they flash blue. Then near the end of the flight they flash blue/red and let out a bleep. Then when very low the red stays on and they bleep quickly. I try to land before this happens. I reckoned for 6 quid if they saved a battery from destruction they would be a bargain.

Cool thanks, I tell you mate after seeing your super nose in control be it left or right, and knowing she's been well used and a few parts are up for replacement is very impressive, and it takes a fellow flyer to understand the level of understanding and skill to reach your level.

In a way flying is like photography, it's not the camera but the person behind the lens that makes it happen, and I'll tell you now, and please I make no comparison here, but if you can do that with your 'Bee if you were at the controls of a Trex 500 you'd find it childs play.

Have you thought about future upgrades to the head, as the colour of the alloy upgrades I think looks rather fetching, and with your rapid level of practicing I fear you'll need alloy surfaces if just to save money wearing out the plastic parts, which is an impressive and proud achievement.

Your a natural, that much is certain.

Keep grinning mate, your thread embodies what this hobby is all about, fun and heaps of satisfaction.

                        Bravo!
