  • Raptor TT50 V2 Engine Tuning ??

    Hi,
I have had a Raptor 50 V2 for the past 12 months and always had a friend at the club set it up for me, however he is away on holiday and my carb suffered a blockage  , I removed the engine the other day and managed to clear the obstruction, whilst it was out of the airframe I also upgraded the fan and clutch to the one's made by QuickUK and I now want to re-tune the engine and need to know the best way to do this using the primary and secondry needles, I have also bought a couple of headloaders so can tie it down on the workbench to make life easier.

    Thanks

    Kev.

the only way to tune an engine is in the air its the only way to get it right.

What sort of flying are you doing? are you just hovering and doing circuits or are you a bit more adverntous.

if your just hovering then as long as it idles ok and doesnt get hot in flight then there really isnt need for much more than that.

you measure temperature by landing and touching your finger on the back plate of the engine. you should be able to hold your finger on there for more than 8 secs without it hurting. If it is only luke warm then it is probably a little rich.

tuning for flying around is a little more complex.
