  • Belt Cp Problems

As above i have had my heli about 2 weeks now and i have had one problem after another on powering up the throttle the tail spins anti clockwise between 30 - 45 degress and i cannot sort it out also last night i noticed that the transmitter around the crystal was very hot any one know if this is normal or any advice on my problems

    thanks in advance

Have you tried tinkering with the Gyro Gain? as for the Tx Crystal i am not sure, when i flew my belt cp i didnt notice any heat

The crystal does get hot on the Esky transmitters - just shows how power-hungry they are. I would agree with Callum, it sounds like a gyro adjustment issue. Try tinkering with the gain, but remember to do a little bit at a time, and disconnect your battery and let the gyro reinitialise for the adjustments to take effect.

Well, you will eventually want to get a HH Gyro, as they stop the tail moving when the winds hits the heli or when you turn, its alot better for hovering as you dont have to control the tail rudder as much so this allows you to concentrate on other things, (am i correct?)

Though if i was you, i would get myself one also, but other people say spend the money on other things,

Might be worth checking to see if you have the soft start enabled?

Read the leaflet on the ESC and do what it says.

Soft start is exactly that. when you advance the throttle lever when the Blades are at rest it spins the blades up slowly to the desired speed, say mid stick, then off you go. Saves the motor trying to go from rest to full tilt instantly generating lots of torque and making your heli spin when spooling up.

                Hope thats clear lol!

The Esky ESC isn't advanced enough to have anything as posh as soft start!

Just be very very very gentle when first opening the throttle; advance it enough to /just/ start the motor, let the rpms stabilise, and then slowly advance the throttle to bring the rotor up to operating speed.

If i remember correctly, ESky updated the ESC with softstart on the belt CP to solve a problem

Some searching suggests that the Belt CP 2 will have soft start, and a heading lock gyro as standard!

                        But I don't think it's available yet.

Go have a read of the Finless Bob's T-Rex 450 setup forum and watch the video's over at helifreaks. They will tell you everything you need to know also the Heliguy forums have a lot on the belt CP that will help as well.

Hmmm. have you tried full max trim to counter it? you may want to check the tail of the heli, it could also be a naff gyro

ah, and it should be on Reverse

also looking at the Belt CP V2, its hardly any diffrent from the first version, diffrent canopy, added head hold gyro, and thats all. its also slighty smaller by 10mm
