    Hi
Your likly problem is Futaba Reciever and JR Transmitter...

they dont like each other at all. If you have a JR Tranny then
you should buy and use a JR Reciever and JR crystals.

Futaba Tranny use a reciever that works with Futaba and crystals.

Not a likly to be broken just a total mix up on crystals and rx/tx
    gear.

Also find another heli flyer in the area for some set up advice etc....

Yup try to get a JR Receiver (Rx) to use with the Transmitter (Tx)

Also make sure that the Tx is set to PPM mode and not PCM mode, assuming the Rx is a std FM Rx and not a PCM one.

And check to make sure that you have the correct type of xtals in both, Futaba use Dual conversion Xtals in their PCM receivers whereas JR just use std single conversion Xtals

we need a few more details

        What receiver are you using.
what reciever were you using in the plane
what make xtals are you using and does the rx one have a red tag.
is the tx transmitting in PPM or PCM mode.
