      Welcome mate.

Sorry to read your misfortune's, Many a beginner falls into the trap by reading the manual and thinking OK that Stick goes left, right, forward & reverse, then thinking "that's not too bad" then find themselves in a world of hurt.

Your not foolish just eager like the rest of us, I can't possibly give any better or more technical advice then what's already been given, however by the time you fix her, if you take her up again the same will happen, by then the cost in spares will be approaching the cost of a quality Twin Coaxial as mentioned before.

You need real flight experience, and a T.C will be more than a handful to begin with, as flying those foamies isn't real Heli flying at all, just a toy that launches up and you turn via a simple rudder control.

The Blade CX2 possibly will cost more then your HB, but is a superb platform to gain experience holding a heli in flight.

Or the Walkera range of Coaxials, which offer superb value for money, as for Phoenix, you don't need a high class PC, just use that program, as installed from the disk which I think is V4.01, that'll gain you vital experience with CCP machines, I wouldn't bother with upgrading the latest versions updates from the Phoenix website, as it may well require more than a cheap second hand P3 can offer, and the program from the disk will teach you just fine, when I started with Phoenix last year I thought the program was faulty in so much what ever I done I couldn't keep a 450 from crashing, and only then will you understand what a world of hurt you were in on that fateful first flight.

Also the BCX2 TX hooks up with the Phoenix Dongle cable without any mods needed.

Best of luck bud', you've a long road ahead of you, but if it's in your blood you'll be completely addictive as with the rest of us.

This is just something that single rotor/ conventional helicopters do; it's called 'translating tendency' and is due to thrust from the tail rotor. It's not something you trim out, you just need a small stab of right cyclic as you come off the ground to allow main rotor thrust to counteract it. This does mean that the heli always hovers at a slight angle.

Seem's there is a lot to learn with this.

So if I can stop the vibration and get to grips with countering the sideways motion I could be in with a chance of hovering.

Basically 'Yes'. Because the main blades are right hand rotating on the helicopter then it will tend to make it want to take of too the left. All helis are the same. Obviously if the main rotor blades were going the opposite way (left/counter clockwise) and the tail rotor was on the other side then it would want to take off to the right. Just give it a little right cyclic when your increasing the throttle. Be careful not to over compensate though (which is what most beginners will do).

              Cheers

Again thanks to everyone, now having the extra knowledge about why certain things happen I feel more confident with helicopter.

As it's raining today I think I'm going to strip down the heli and sort out the vibration. My next investment though will be a decent RC tool kit, is this a good deal: Tool Kit ??

never seen one "in the flesh" and there is a couple of bits you wont need just yet( but will in the future if you get hooked)
but it does look like a nice kit and similar to this

Just spent most of this evening following the guide boggy linked to in an earlier post.

This is spot on! Now when my heli powers up there is virtually no vibration (there was none until I added the training gear), now just need to wait to fly it again.

Anyone looking for info on the HoneyBee FP try these out (nice one boggy):

Those tool kits look identical apart from different colored Hex handles.

But a dam good purchase either way.

The Buzzflyer one includes a "Swash Level Tool" I think this is the only difference other than the colours.
