Leeds Model shop do the T-rex 500 carbon version for 259 pounds

You won't find it cheaper in the UK

Get the 401 and 9254 tail servo for it no matter what a shop says

you will need the 600n tail servo mount kit though for it to take the full size servo on the tail

Leeds Model is the place to buy it Mark but TBH the Futaba 9257 is ideal for this heli with the standard supplied fittings.

Many thanks Mark, what do you recommend for main servos? HS82s?

9254 equals the weight out better with bigger batteries

Hi-tec 5245's are what a lot of flyers are running or futaba servos or JR 3500
            digitals etc...

hunt through the T-rex forum section and you'll see what servo's most people are running

Check the prices for the Gyro and servos from Phil Henderson first before maybe paying more than you have to with a model shop. He is a top bloke and provides good after sales support.

The 500 is a great heli and possibly my favourite at the mo. It flies great and I am really confident with it. It handles more like a slightly shrunk 600 rather than an enlarged 450 (if that makes sense!) as it handles the British weather conditions a lot better than the 450.

I'm running Hitec 5245MGs on the cyclic and a 401 / 9257. The balance (centre of gravity) is fine with Maxpoly 6s3000 lipos and at flies (flips etc.) nice and straight .
I find the 9257 fine on the tail but did upgrade to the Align carbon tail blades. They made the tail quite a lot better IMHO. The rest of the heli is standard except for some anti-static mods and it is running the 13th pinion.

Get one - you'll love it
                Cheers, Lee.

Definately get the 500 in the next few weeks, then give your 450 to someone who works in your office for next to nothing!!

i love my 500 to bits, if i were advising someone from scratch, then id def say a 500. much more like a big heli than a 450 size, but without the huge repair and setup costs of a 50 or 600 size.

Absolutely no chance. Got a heli yet or are you still a wanabee?
