Mode 1 or mode 2?

      I learnt to fly fixed wings Mode 1 when I was younger. When I started flying helicopters I made the decision to stick with Mode 1, and I've been quite successful so far. Clearly I'm not doing piro flips yet, but then neither are the guys I know who fly Mode 2.

      I genuinely think there is no true advantage for any mode, some maneauvers are easier on Mode 2, but some are easier on Mode 1. It's also worth noting that a few of the top helicopter flyers fly Mode 1, I think that Hiroki Ito (3rd in the 3D Masters 2006) is Mode 1.

      I'd say stick with Mode 1, if you put lots of sim practice in then you'll be fine.
