        Any tips welcomed!
        I'll be using my Dx6i.
What's the worse that can happen!?
If I was still in London I'd offer to give you a hand with it but I am way down in the boonies now on the Kent coast. When setup properly it should fly really well. I've just got back into flying 450s again and it took me a little while to get used to the small size - you'll have the opposite experience coming from something smaller. In theory it should be more stable and precise than what you have been flying so far, but then we have the element of nerves that kicks in!

If i'm not happy i'll take videos and bother you on here!
One of the reasons i wanted one of these is that there is loads of experience out there on this exact model online.
But if i get proper stuck i'll track someone down! Kent you say.......

Yeah there will be lots of info online and people on here and on Helifreak experienced with that model so I'm sure you can easily get answers to any questions. I'm in Dover now so I fly at a club called Bloobird Radio Flyers. I'm still a member of Epsom Downs and Boxhill clubs but have not been to either of them yet this year.

Hi i have one of these 3s version nice little heli ,one thing i have changed is the skids as the tail is very close to the ground and the torque tube gears
are pretty fragile so i fitted a set of skids from the new trex 470 which fit straight on and as they have a slight angle to them lift the tail off the
              ground a bit more.

Almost everybody on here has had a 450 at one time or another so there is a wealth of experience on which to draw.

I am on my second now (only because the first one is at the bottom of a deep pond). My current one is a Pro V2, 6s but with original 325 mm blades. I have a G Pro FBL unit which seems to work well for my basic (circuits and eights) flying. The great thing is that it can be set up to suit your own requirements and ability. Once that is done you will enjoy it. I guarantee it.

OP (Paula), You've got yourself a great deal there! I have 2 x 450L's, 1 that's been my "being brave" heli for some time now, and the other was bought for spares, but I've never crashed the first one that I built, so it's still brand new in kit form in it's box. I wouldn't sell either of mine for only £106, I'd be looking for double that LOL!!

The only thing I would say is that you need to go over the heli very carefully and check everything before your first flight, and make sure several times that the AR7200BX is set up correctly with your transmitter. I noticed in one of the pics on ebay that the AR7200BX either isn't mounted to the frame properly, or is loose because it's sitting out of line with the airframe, you must fix that too!, very important!

I have the 6s version, one tip I would give you is to strip it bolt by bolt and make sure everything is locticted and greased as necessary, also check that the main and feathering shafts are true, and that the link arms bolts are true, and link arms free moving.

See! This is all good stuff Thanks!
I'm wondering if i should do a factory reset on the AR7200BX (after fixing it properly) and set it up again so i know what's what.
                        Might help me learn.
I have some locktight ready to go too!

I would just go through all the settings again, there is plenty of info on YouTube ref setting up, as a safety tip i always disconnect the motor to set up, remember you'll need a swash level and pitch gauge if you haven't already got them?

Yes, I would re-do the entire AR7200BX (BeastX) setup with your transmitter. It will certainly help you to learn more about actually setting up the FBL unit.

If you do a google search for tail gain values for the BeastX and the 450L that should find you a base figure to start with for that too!

If you are thinking about converting your 230S to use the SR Huey fuselage, I can post a pic of how I did the tail motor mount for a friend of mine.

I've already had it in there once.
But i had a bit of a crash. The bodies are hard to find now so i'm holding off on doing it again for a bit

Yes, those fuselages are getting hard to find, it's probably cheaper and easier to buy a whole second hand Huey SR with a good body than find a new clean fuselage.
