Sorry to hear about that mishap. Don't let it put you off. In a year's time you will be flying large helicopters around happily and you will wonder what the problem was. Experience is a wonderful thing. You learn from everything you do.

I have recently been setting up a 3GX flybarless system on my 600. As a result of my first test I have slightly damaged main blades, written off tail blades and tail fin. It is incredible that a heli can rotate so fast. The 3GX is in the bin and I have ordered a Spartan VX1n.

Sounds like you might have the gyro response backward. You maybe need to get an experienced heli flyer to give it a look over for you.

Gutted for you. Fly bar is even more difficult to set up (IMO) and a lot more parts to fix/make sure they're moving smoothly.

Fortunately, spares the a 450X are quite easy to come by, and aren't very expensive. Just make sure you don't buy those ridiculously expensive 450X blades.

Long term investment Dave. When I am doing inverted piroflipping hurricane pie dish manoevres I will be glad I got the industrial grade sensors rather than the cheap electronics used by lesser FBL controllers such as V things.

It such a shame, it would have been something simple with the setup which was not right. As suggested above, get it fixed and seek out an experienced flyer or go to a local club.

The 450X with a Kbar is a solid setup and should be a great platform for you to learn on, when setup correctly.

Yep,woke up this morning keen to get it fixed and try again, encouraging words about the 450x with kbar being a great platform, thanks, too many different opinions out there!I priced it up and it's not that bad(all part of it I guess)blades are the only thing that really costs, think I'll use some align 3g 325 blades seem a lot cheaper??Does anyone know anyone in south Hampshire that sets them up?I'll try local club.

Some people on here fly somewhere near Southampton.

The get directions link says it's 30-40 minutes away from Gosport by car.
