One major like is standard replacement parts. Fragile though. Just bought carbon fiberain frame, boom supports etc. Going for a bit of strength this time round and going to flying school Saturday

Can someone take a rear end view of their bird (heli) and say which port goes to what so I can double check connections and which way the D goes, the shape of the connection thing. Thanks all.

Also how important is the horizontal tail fin? That a must?

The horizontal is purely cosmetic, most helis don't even have them

Thanks buddy wasn't sure wanted to check. I'll keep it off then as bought a new part without the tail blade option

Yeah, the horizontal and vertical tail fins are there mainly as visual orientation cues and as protection for the tail blades (horizontal) if you bring the heli into land tail first. They're not absolutely necessary but as a beginner, expect to have more orientation/broken tail blades issues until you get used to the way heli models look in the air and get to grips with take off/landing with the model straight and level if you fly without them.

Thanks bob. Bought an all in one tail rotor housing but forgot about the horizontal one. Won't worry about it now then. Thanks.

Right guys she's all up and running. Smooth and working well. Just need to test flight outside now.

Was not as bad as I thought it would be to build up.

Looks like they need a clean! But so long as they're structurally sound .. no real need.

Fixed pitch blades spin much slower than CP, so better chance of surviving a crash.

On the original crash pics, the leading edge of at least one blade looked pretty chewed up to me towards the tip. That's not going to be good for the aerodynamics.

I'll have a good look at them. Did try to look for nice carbon ones but I couldn't see them
