    Hi,

The 300x is bigger and is a 6 channel heli, can be difficult to fly if your on your own and if it hits you it will hurt, parts are cheap though and it uses the BeastX flybarless system which is pretty good.

The DX7 at that price is ok but for about £120 you can get a new DX6 which is far a superior - you don't need more than 6 channels at this stage - SPEKTRUM DX6 (NEW VERSION) TX ONLY MODE 2 - Inwood Models

The Blade 200SRX is a cracking heli for learning to fly with all the SAFE technology, on it - don't bother upgrading anything on it until you need to - probably after your first crash when you damage something.

      Hi gobby thanks for that.

Id seen the dx much cheaper I assume it's the same. SPEKTRUM DX6I TRANSMITTER 6 CH 2.4 GHZ NEW BOXED BEST PRICE ON EBAY UK GUARENTEE | eBay

i really only wondered about batteries etc as I'd ideally like a little more flight time. I dare say I'll have a crash or two but I'm one of them thrown in the deep end kind of people plus I can keep it on beginner settings.

I only asked about the 300x as a noob elsewhere got recommended it also. Know the blade is raves about. I'm in essex so I'd rather go and get it than mail order for any problems. But they charge a fair bit more. We'll see.

      Thanks for advice

        Hi,

The DX6i is a completely different TX - the numbers indicate the number of channels only, there are three DX6 TX available DX6s / DX6i which are both below the DX7 you posted a link to.

The new DX6 is far superior IMHO opinion than the DX7 and thus the DX6i (Nothing wrong with a DX6i though for learning- all depends on budget), that's why I posted a link to the DX6 from inwoods, most model shops will have them in stock as they are a pretty good budget TX - postage is typically £6 or £7 on that and most places are pretty good with warranty plus Horizon Hobby are the best in the business at resolving customer issues.

I probably recommended the 300X to someone else - its a good heli to learn with but has no safe technology - its a little bigger so easier to see, both are good choices no matter which way you go

Batteries, just check the dimensions and see what can fit - I am pretty sure most will accept a larger size battery and for starting out on these two the Turnigy nano techs should be fine and fairly cheap - just get three or four to keep flying

I would also get a set of training sticks for when you start - may assist in not toppling the heli over during landing and take off especially if your learning on your own.

also so seen someone recommend the 300x. This bigger as it looks a bit more butch kind of thing?

          thanks.
It's not THAT much bigger to be honest, but it's collective pitch and absolutely NOT a beginner heli.

As to the 200SRX and Transmitter - I've said this before on another thread but NORMALLY buying something like a DX6i is a good move. However, with the 200SRX, the principal advantage is the different modes - beginner, intermediate, expert and PANIC.

The modes are pre-programmed into the DX5 that comes with the RTF (ready to fly) package. Programming these into a DX6i or similar CAN be done, but it's far from ideal and likely to just confuse you more.

I would recommend going for the 200SRX RTF with pre-programmed TX. Then, when you're ready for the next stage, sell off the 200SRX with TX to fund your new shiny TX (DX6, DX8, DX9, whatever)

Ok so I'll forget the one I linked to on here. I'll use the one you posted above in that case.

Ill have a good think about which heli, as I like the safe idea but the bigger sounds better haha defo get the bars also you was talking about.

Really, it's only the 200SRX and its different modes that makes me suggest the RTF package including TX rather than getting a more future-proof DX6i or greater. The main reason for getting a 200SRX is the modes and panic switch. Programming them into a DX6i is a kludge, and a rather ugly one at that IMO.

So, I still recommend the 200SRX as it is designed for people like you. But once it gets you to a position where you want to grow beyond it, sell the entire RTF package and then invest in a "long term" TX.

Congratulations! Just take it easy to start with as the phrase "Don't run before you can walk" was practically invented for beginner RC heli pilots!

Congratulations on your purchase. I also started with 200srx don't use it anymore, but it was great for learning the basics on altho it's not crash proof and don't try to fly it if it's windy speaking from experience lol I found it 45 mins later.

Also get onto a local club if you can flying with others makes the session/day much more enjoyable and valuable hints and tips.

Maybe also look into a flight sim I've crashed maybe about 4/5 times at the field each crash getting more expensive as the models get bigger with better electrics but I have crashed prob over 100 on the sim it really does help.

                            good luck and have fun

I've had it out in the garden today as I'm impatient and wanted to fly. It has been windy so I've just tried to hover it but it was been whisked towards the fence and even hit my arse with the blades. I reckon if the wind dies down I'll be ok. Just need to get a grasp of the controls really. Nice little heli and seems pretty tough to me so far.

Theres a club not far from me but reckon I'll wait to do that when I go bigger without the safe system. Good fun though. Just want to fly the crap out of it

LOL. Imagine if that had been your nice scale heli with small fiddly details on it flying towards the fence!

Just be aware that it will naturally drift left on take-off - this is normal and a side-effect of the tail rotor. You will need to give a gentle amount of right stick to the right to counteract it. Naturally, a level hover will involve a slight right lean ..
