    Hi guys

happy new year and all that Jazz

im after some help if ok. I'm really after a military kind of helicopter to start off on. I don't want to go to beginners route so wanting a single blade heli. Anyone know here where I can get a good one. Looked at battery but 2 hour charge for 10 mins flying time. Then the nitro ones I can't find anything decent.

This is the battery one I've seen. So if anyone knows similar but better please let me know.

    Hi and Welcome.

I wouldn't touch that with a barge pole! Unfortunately what hat you want doesn't exist.

Theres no no point in trying to learn on a scale Heli (it'll cost a fortune everytime you crash) and very little chance of you learning on a £79 model they simply don't fly.

Sadly theres no shortcuts into this hobby and even fewer into scale modeling.

All il I can suggest is start with the basics, there's tons of advice on here and work your way up.

thats the best advise. start off with joining a club and see what the guy's are flying plus you may pick up a cheap good second hand one. once you've learnt to fly, then go for a scale heli.

        Hi guys

thanks for the advice. That was the only thing I could find I was looking for.

I know now there are a load of routes so that was just a random idea.

Dont mind paying out for what I have too so I can pursue this hobby. Got the bug for it now so now looking for what's out there I fancy

a good scale helicopter your going to be looking at £1500, its a lot of money to crash. get your self a align trex 600, you'll get good flight time 12 mins, cheap spare parts and everyone knows about them if you have any problems.

Honestly mate learn to fly first

if you want to go down the scale heli route, you could go for vario helicopter and take you time building and scaling it up so by the time you've finished it hopefuly you'll be able fly or the roban helicopters

defo go to a club first

I can only re-iterate what has been said already. Learning to fly a single-rotor heli isn't easy. Almost everyone (ie. 99.99% of people) learn through a series of scrapes, near misses and crashes. Just do a youtube search for "rc heli crash" and you'll get an idea of what's in store.

Those times don't last long, but there is no easy way to escape them. A PC-based simulator helps, but chances are, you'll still have your fair share of crashes.

So, learn on a simple, beginner heli for what you can readily source parts (eg. a Blade mSRX or Blade 200SRX) then once you've got past the beginner stage, start looking at scale options.

PS, "beginners heli" doesn't necessarily mean co-axial.

Both the Blade mSRX and 200SRX are single-rotor beginner helicopters. for example ...

Understood. Looking at them two. Ones vary from £100 to £600. Single blade to twin. Will Defo follow advice. Seen the cx2 can be done in different bodies like a sea hawk! Sweet lol

Look, watch & listen. Otherwise you will get rooked, lose a load of money and probably get disillusioned and give up.

There is NO shortcut to learning to fly a heli - especially a scale one. How do I know? Well, I know!

Can only reiterate what has been said, start off with a trex 550 at club a or a blade 200 SRX in BNF guise with a new DX6 transmitter - get a few batteries and some help, will save a lot of money and time. £80 to join a club may be the best investment you will make in this hobby.

I am still learning but have my scale Lama almost complete in the wings waiting to fly, getting there slowly as single pitch is pretty tricky.

                              Hi guys

Ive seen the 200s rx I'm getting for about £150 then the transmitter at £77 so I assume that's good?

can you recommend any upgraded parts that would help out, better batteries and running gear, and is the canopy the blade style the only one you can put on it?

                              Any tips appreciated

also so seen someone recommend the 300x. This bigger as it looks a bit more butch kind of thing?

                              thanks.
