  • I hate the smell of smoke in the evening

    Evening all,

well fitted the new Graupner Speed 300 to my HB V3 and wired in a lipo voltage light as well.

All the soldering and shrink wrapping went fine and did a few other jobs while things were in bits.

All was well until I connected it all up and to my horror SMOKE!

Like a complete Nermal I'd wired up the battery wrong and burned out my electronics. That'll teach me to finish fiddly jobs at 12pm.

I'm awaiting the 5in1 electronics from Midland Helis for my HB V3, but they've been on order for weeks (probably a month now), and I'm itching to get going again sooner rather than later.

Can anyone suggest a good replacement for the Hummingboard, and if I'd be just as well to replace the board and the receiver. I don't want to go down the road of a full seperates system yet,so an intergrated solution would be better.

    Thanks as always- Jase

So of the indoor flyers opt for separate speed controllers, one for the main motor and one for the tail. It's a bigger outlay at first, but better in the long run.

        Twister Main board?

The Twister main board apears to be the cheapest that I have seen (thats an all in one) as I am considering putting one in my dragonfly. If not try EBAY as there have been some Honeybee ones floating around recently.

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

        And a DX8 too

To be honest fellas cost isn't really the issue,

I just want a simple solution to this - and would really liek to get back in the air with the mods I have made.

I wish you wouldn't put those TREX pics up - it really does make me want to trade up, but I think it'd be better if I got my head around nose in hover on an FP first.
