As above if you don't fly in it you wouldn't get a chance the way it's been. A few flights on the e700 today and although very windy was great fun

It wasn't comfortable but for blatting about its a gas. The 700 in fairness is a bit bigger than a 550 so has a little more stability and has the grunt to bring it back into the wind

Took my 550 DFC out last week in gusty conditions, i was crapping myself for the first two packs but after that it was a blast, i was loving the huge loops into wind.
I think it was nearly full negative at one point to keep the heli vertical at the top of a stall turn into wind and full pitch down wind
Managing the collective in circuits was fun, just as i thought i had the wind worked out, it would drop, increase or change direction!!
I usually land in normal mode but that wasn't to be as i was having to pull too much negative and would have ended up chopping the throttle. So i landed in idle up and hit hold once my skids toughed terra firma

Had a few on my 780 today. It's not that bad unless the air is turbulent with obstructions. Stick your nose in to wind and spool it up, shut down do the same and add negative to slow down quick. FBL controllers can make it a bit twitchy on the ground if its gusting.

Thinking about it, my 550e is the v1 with the 3g head, suppose it would fly better with a dfc setup?

Not sure about that.....i find the 3G head a bit more forgiving and less twitchy than the DFC but i'm no expert.

Neither am I !, my only experience with a dfc setup is on my 500 pro and so far,has only flown in calm conditions,,,will give it a go tomorrow and see what flys better in windy conditions,, the 600N doesn't count as I've only flown that for half a tank-still setting up.

I'll fly in any wind really but I hate standing in it so I normally go home after 1 or 2 if it's that bad.

Have flown in winds where you need to spool up and get the heli in the air asap to stop it blowing over, makes for an interesting flight! As Maj said, good when it's not turbulent wind.
