Hard to answer really mate because once you learn them they ain't so hard lol

All I keep telling people is................ if sustained pyro flips (chaos) was easy mode 2 why can't everyone do them that fly's mode 2, same applies to mode 1.

We both know its a timing thing same as pyro wall of death, it goes round pretty good until the timing goes then we both know the result.

If a piro flip or kaos for mode 2 is basically, rdder, and pitch, and then simply stiring on the aileron/elevator, which feels quite comfortable how and what stick imputs are needed on mode 1?
        Oh and timing lol.

            Hi Ya,

I had the same thoughts you have about 3 years back. I was convince that being mode 1 just makes it harder to fly. I too seriously contemplated giving up and going mode 2.

Then Tim posted a video of a Russian chap flying mode 1 as good as I have seen any pilot fly. From then on I knew it was my head holding me back. I had to get on the horse and get on with learning the brain to finger co-ordination to make the heli do what I want it to do. (The same process a mode 2 pilot has to go through)

Our downside of course is:- It's difficult to talk the mode 2er's about moves and how they do them. We cant fly anybody else's models without a buddy box and they cant fly ours (actually that probably is a good thing !)

I guess the advice is take every move and break it down into small chunks, learn the orientations and eventually it will fall into place

As for choas, I spent a very painful weekend away with work in a hotel room working on the sim for many hours before finally it clicked into place. (Richie Clark nick named it the "washing machine head" day !) The laptop very nearly left the building on several occasion

            Cheers Matt

Thanks for all the feedback, certainly made me think about my flying. I stood there out in the cold this morning with my 550 and thought where my flying was last year and where it is now. When something clicks and you start to feel the progression, you just want to fly more. If you want to progress with anything, you just have to do lots of it! I wonder how many hours some of the top pilots out there have really put in to get where they are?...... I shall not be making any excuses for being mode 1 and I won't be displaying any disabled badges either! Time to load up Phoenix .............

                Hey Chris,

One of the reasons I started flying with a keychain "808" camera stuck to my cap was to keep a video record of my flying. I upload them all to YouTube largely for my own use. I find it handy every so often to watch older videos to remind myself where my flying was in the past, and to see how I've progressed. Otherwise I find that progress can be subtle such that you don't notice it. Watching old vids of myself sometimes gives me a boost by seeing that I am genuinely improving!
