Thanks for the tip. Do some helicopters act as master transmitter or does the controller always act as the master transmitter.

Another thing, re reading your original post, for most helicopters and other r c vehicles, it is necessary to switch on the transmitter before the receiver.
Re your last question, the transmitter may be capable of being bound to a number of receivers, if it has model memories but generally a receiver can only be bound to one transmitter at a time.Tron 7.0 advance Vbar evo V Control

Shuang Ma 9118 2.4Ghz Transmitter not working
Hello to all forum members.
I bought a Shuang Ma 9118 2.4Ghz model for my son for Christmas. The helicopter charges up ok (well lights come on, when I turn them on), but I can't get any life out of the Transmitter. I've tried to activate it with the supplied & new batteries - no difference. From reading your posts, it sounds like I need to 'bind' the helicopter & transmitter. How do I do that? I tried following your posts without success. As I understand, the steps to bind them are:
* Place Helicopter on a flat surface at least 2metres away from the transmitter
* Push throttle stick & trimmers to their down-most position
* Turn on the helicopter then wait 5minutes before turning on the transmitter
When I follow the above, there is still no life out of the transmitter. I've had a replacement Shuang Ma 9118 2.4Ghz sent to me (bought them online) & have the same problem (must be me?).
I appreciate any help anyone can give me (I too want to get addicted to these devices!!).
Thanks
Vince

i hate to ask, but you are aware the transmitter takes 8 batteries, and the battery holder needs to be removed to allow the last 4 to be connected.
It has been a while since i get my shuang ma charged and used, but i will revisit it tonight to get you the exact power up sequence.
