Quite a sensible choice a 450 will give you all the adreilin rush you need and is a very capable machine.. I have both 600n and 450v2 and Im having a break from nitro at the mo .. but love the 450 buzzin around the garden.. and being in doors in 2 seconds flat

DX6 if your going to stay with the 450.. DX7 if you are considering a nitro later... it just a more capable tranny.. and i think is the prefered choice of many heli pilots

Just glad you picked a good heli as your start in this hobby.. if you can learn to fly a 450 well.... a nitro will be that much easier to progress to

Just my thoughts but I've been there.... been said before "Buy right once and once only" it's cheaper in the long term

Also Phoenix sim is a must.. just for those wet blustery days if nothing else

          The right choice IMHO.

DX6i saved you 10% of your total budget over a DX7.

If you need a DX7 later, you'll probably find a use for the DX6i (which effectively costs ~£50-£60, so will probably have paid for itself by then), and the DX7 may have been superseded by that time by a DX7i or such.

I did exactly what you did. Except bought a Dx7 instead of the dx6i. Now I find myself flying the 500, 5 months later. Go figure!

              good choice!
Just finished building a trex450se v2 and i have to say it is incredible, far superior to the mini titan..
I have the flybar weights on atm and so it is stable as hell but will go if you want it to. does mild 3d on these settings too, im very impressed.
plan on moving the weights for my next flight... see if it goes as nuts as my titan is set at

Everything ordered, and set for delivery on 31st March. I am now going mental, and spending most of my time reading every scrap of info on the web I can relating to Trex 450. Unfortunately I am stuck on an oil installation off the Nigerian coast until the 28th. I am abnormally excited about a new toy for somone the wrong side of 45!!

You wont be disapointed with the trex 450 ,They are a very nice helli to build and are stable in flight for there size. Make sure for your first steps you use training undercarage which will stop it tipping over.

I will certainly fit undercarriage until I feel comfortable in a hover, also I don't intend trying anything which I haven't mastered on Phoenix first.

I still get excited too, it's like a kid on Xmas eve when I order something I really wanted. I was like it with my BCX2, and my DX6i. No doubt will be like it when I order my B400 later on.

Quanter, thanks a lot. Already downloaded all of Finless's videos, which are really good. Can't wait to start building, and these videos are great for showing how to set up. I'll try the other link now.

On my way home from sunny Nigeria now. Everything gets delivered on Monday. I've blown my budget a bit because I have coming some more batteries, tools and a few spares for when I have the inevitable crash. Yesterday when I was on the EC155 from work to the land I was watching the pilot very closely!

Can't remember looking forward to something arriving as much as this for a good long time. I used to be obsessed with hang gliding, and this is stirring my avaiating emotions in a similar way.
