As already mentioned, the 450 is a collective pitch, not a fixed pitch heli. If you've got a version with a 3GX flybarless unit, then you would need a 7 channel transmitter, or install a separate receiver. The 3GX cannot be used directly with 6 channel transmittersOriginally posted by Johannesburg View PostHelo, i just bought me some Trex 450 pro. Thanks big time
@ Tomatwalden and Electricsceadu,Thanks alot for your wonderful infos. I understand the 450 pro is a collective pitch helicopter. Just that a friend of mine happens to be building a totally homebuilt fixed pitch helicopter from scratch. He's asking to know if he can use the dx6i for his heli... Guys, you needed to see this chap. So talented he fabricated his rotor head from aluminuim sheet, built his own swashplate, handcarved wooden blades, fabricated a oneway bearing... Amazing how he made everything from scratch. Here are pictures of his work, you can also read up his build thread here:Homebuilt Radio controlled Helicopter - Science/Technology - Nairaland learnt RCHA members are making a little donation for him here: http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/main-d...mentation.html

Sorry that's not correct Tom.You cannot use a DX6 with satellites on the 3GX due to the way it assigns channels, however you can if you use a external receiver.

I said the DX6i cannot be used DIRECTLY with a 3GX, which is correct. Yes, you can do it with an external RX - just as I did myself with my trex500 and 3GX originally. It's a messy setup though.Originally posted by AndyThilo View PostSorry that's not correct Tom.You cannot use a DX6 with satellites on the 3GX due to the way it assigns channels, however you can if you use a external receiver.
If you reread my original post, you'll see I did say " or install a separate receiver "
Sorry if I didn't make that clear. The issue fwiw is that the 3GX expects gain on channel 7.

Are you OK with flying a collective pitch helicopter is my first question and are you building it from scratch or have you brought it second hand ?Originally posted by Johannesburg View PostHelo, i just bought me some Trex 450 pro.
