Hi All
I have just ordered a Blade CX2 following much searching and taking of advice from this excellent forum.
I've always fancied an RC helicopter, but was put off many years ago by the then high cost. I've never really been interested in rc cars, planes or boats, trust me to want to do the most expensive (potentially depending on crashes!!), rc hobby. My interest was renewed when one of my workmates came in with a little 2-channel heli his son bought him for Christmas, next thing I'm in ASDA buying a Picoo Z for £17.00 absolutely great fun and the best stress reliever going, well the only one you can have in the office and not get sacked that is!! I've had great fun with this hardy little copter, its been crashed, dropped, straightened, crashed, dropped and straightened again, but still flys OK, just not always where you want it to go.
So I was well and truly hooked and started looking around for the next best step; I must admit I was within an inch of buying an Esky Honey Bee from BuzzFlyer, but after reading many threads finally one from Made2Fade I decided against the Honey Bee and also decided against going the possibly cheaper Ebay route and have just placed an order with Midland Helicopters, they stock all the spares, it's the latest version with ali head and separate receiver. I've also ordered an additional battery, spare blades, heat sink and most importantly training gear.
Well I've said hello, I'll let you know how I get on, I may well invest in Phoenix later, but from what I have read and providing I practice basic manoeuvres and don't try and run before I can walk I should be OK with the CX2, at the end of the day it ain't the flying that damages your heli, it's the crashing!!
Cheers, Steve
