      Sorry been busy.

      Will have pics soon.

      Radikal HD

      Oil: Ryobi semi-synth
      Fuel: Unleaded
      Mix 30:1
      Blades Rotortech 620
      Spartan Gyro + 650
      Align 610's on cyclic
      Futaba 3152 Throttle
      Align 2in1 reg
      Spektrum rx
      Century exhaust
      Min Air air filter
      Pull strter option
      Outrage 2s 2500mah lipo (rx)
      1s 5350mah lipo (ignition)

      Needles: h=1.5 L=1 3/8

Went to petrol station. Bought 1litre of petrol. (£1.15)

Went to field. Bloody strong gusts + winds. Oh and sleet.

Tried to start. No bulb for priming so i put finger over carb hole. No luck.

Tried a starter. Hooked up 2 my car. The starter started smoking.

Then i squirted fuel direct into carb. It started .

      15 mins on ground.

      Re-fueled.

2 gentle hover flights with rest periods (for heli). Gentle? It was blowing crazy.

      Every restart was easy.

Had to stop and go to work.

      More to come

          13 April 2010

Well its back in the air again

Nothings changed except rotortechs are no more

Now using aerotech 640mm woodies . Yeah thats right woodies.

          Had 3 flights today.

          *Still running semi-synthetic ryobi now @ 30:1

*Switching to TTS full synthetic very soon.

*I have bought the Hanson alloy block (between engine and carb). Will put that on tonight as the original is leaking

*Leaned low speed to 1 1/4 & Hi was leaned in 1/16th.

*Adjusted the throttle curve and while i was on the 3rd flight today i felt the engine getting smoother.

*7 tanks so far (12 mins)

approx 300mah per flight for ignition
approx 300 mah per flight rx

          Flight report:

weather = 8deg cent + 20 mph winds bit gusty.

Flights were loops + flips + circuits + piros.

The model felt a bit heavy but got better when the engine was tuned better. The model didn't feel "pitchy" either. Flips were really tight.

The model tracks very well and doesn't seem to have phasing issues.

i am using 85mm tails instead of the longer originals. The tail has good authority. The very high tail ratio of approx 5:1 gives good power.

          Century Torpedo exhaust bit loud.

So far i am really likong the model. I got it to replace a 50 nitro. Ok it wont have the performance of a 50 nitro but it will be close. The fuel so far has cost me. It has cost me no more than £3 for the 7 12 min flights. The flights will get longer but i am not filling the tank up to the top.

I have the pull start option and it is so easy to start. Looks like this will be a good everyday machine

          More to follow.................

          Regards

                Hi Asid,

Nearly finished mine! Hopefully in the next two weeks. I opted for the Zimmerman which people are using. My friend has one on his and it is very quiet. Typical Zimmerman really

                    Update 14-04-10

These pics were taken with an iphone. Apologies for the quality they were taken with iphone.

Equpment taken with heli. Not much

1cell 5350mah lipo (electronic ignition) below boom

Quick UK boom supports (Trex 600)

                    Weather
                    Wind 15mph
                    Temp 8 deg C

                    Modification
Installed a Hanson aluminium insulator block + teflon gasket.

                    Flight report:
4 fligfhts today @12 mins each

Flights were loops + flips + circuits + piros + stalls + rolls + inverted

I had noticed the original carb insulator block had been leaking a little so replaced with an after market Hanson machined aluminum block.

                    Hanson Insulator Block

Model feels better with every flight. I still have to dial in the controls as the cyclics at low speed arent what i want. It is setup for slow cyclics. Paddles are 30g maybe change to 20-22g.

Model tracks very straight. Very smooth turns. However i can still and will always feel the weight. I have been flying it today the way i flew my nitro 50. I am impressed. This model will replace my 50 nitro. So far it fills that roll well.

I am getting over speeding in fast descents so will be fitting a GV-1 gov.

Engine feels and sound very smooth. This is good as it is totally stock.
