  • Tarot ZYX FBL controller - first test with Trex 250

This is my first test of my Trex 250 with Tarot ZYX FBL controller. Fitted with stock servos and Align FBL head.

Needs some minor fettling on the gain settings, but not bad for a £40 controller I think you will agree. Might have to get one of these for my 500....

I have the Tarot ZYX and the Tarot FBL head on my 250 - really happy with it except for whipping on FFF piros - if I could get a prog box I could probably fix that also. I also have a Copterx 3X1000 and ALZRC 3GYS (I got a bit carried away ) - all 3 of them are basically th same things with minor differences, but the 3X1000 and 3GYS both have programming boxes which make them much easier to tweak, plus you get extra fine-tuning menus. I'm sure that Tarot will come out with a prog box soon - unfortunately they are not inter-changeable

Want to get the USB adapter for mine, makes it that bit easier for programming & updating the firmware as the latest update is out for the tarot ZYX

USB adapter works extremely well, ok so it's tricky to program at the patch without a laptop but beats the hell out of counting the light flashes

I have the copterX 3x1000 version, £26.00 shipped, and the tarot USB programmer. about (4.00 shipped)

On a 450 it works very, very well for the money, well impressed.

              cheers!

Hi Mike, sorry didn't read your entire post first time through. With a bit of driver reverse engineering the tarot USB programmer defititely works with the copterx and gives AFAIK all the same menu's as the box style programmer:

                check out this thread:

                hope that helps.

Certainly will help, I hate counting the flashes & find it really slow to program, I'm resetting mine on the 250 as I'm sure the cyclic gains are too high

Have ordered the programmer as my son has a tarot 450 pro v2 on the way with the tarot FBL system so will come in handy.

                      Rich,

I'm there already (MikeHRC on RCGroups as MikeJ was taken). I have the USB dongle and use John's software with all of my FBL units (I have the Copterx 3X1000, the Tarot ZYX and the ALZRC 3GYS on different helis - they are all basically the same), what I was saying is that the Programming Box (not the USB dongle) is different for each. The comms between the Programming Box and the FBL unit is slightly different for each manufacturer - John's software polls out to each type in turn and when it responds it uses the appropriate format.

                      Cheers,
                      Mike.

Hi, I've recently put a ZYX in my Gaui 200 Hurricane, I set it up through the PC software (Soft 3D) and it just about takes off but, oscillates really badly on all axis! I'm sure with trial and error I could sort it out but, the errors can be costly.
Can anybody tell me their settings on a Trex 250 or send me the config file so I can use this as a starting point.

                        Cheers, Craig

                          Hi,
I haven't got mine setup on my 250 yet but have read that turning the cyclic gain by 10 really helps with the oscillations

I've just received my USB programmer so will post back when setup

Thanks Dan, I'll give that a try - I think there is an update for controller too so I'll do that too. Look forward to hearing how you get on with your 250

                            Cheers Craig
