Having set up my first Demon 3X and 3SX I have a few blanks that if someone could enlighten me I'd appreciate it. Maiden and subsequent flights have been superb very happy but questions on the following.

If you have active channels for gains on the head and tail the RC page values change. Does the unit take these values over the slider value in the tail/rigid page?

On the 3SX when you have tuned up the Rigid side of things and then tab to Horizon page. Select the appropriate tags for 3d.

When you adjust the head gain now horizon gain if you are in the middle up to 20% does this give you the same in flight performance as what you set in Rigid?

I'm not interested in SL more rescue so is it a case of just enabling -100% on your spring switch. Any expert settings etc what you use would be appreciated.

All I'm after is blatting around normally in Rigid with bailout on the spring switch.

    Thanks,

    MJ

Ok think I've answered my questions with more PC/Heli fiddling time.

Diagnosis page is what's been used and defaults to tab page value if no RC input or used for a different function like horizon or RTT.

Rigid stab mode up to 20% horizon.

    -100% Bailout with pitch.

Missed the green circles on diagnosis page that made it easier when twigged those.

Quick mix and 3 Rigid modes all with bailout on single spring switch.

    Any input always welcome.

    Cheers,

    MJ

Hi Maj, does the bailout work in any orientation, do u just hold switch and it flips heli upright and climbs for you, you having to do nothing apart from hold switch and let go sticks?

I'm yet to use it only flown in rigid on the S version. Surprisingly the SX turned up today so fitted this afternoon, setup Rigid mode which is basically like any other FBL unit SAS. Horizon mode is Self levelling and Bail out is Self levelling with pitch. You select what you want it to do. I have level to nearest either inverted or right way up and Pitch away from ground. Fly around in idle up and if needed hit your allocated spring stick activates rescue as described above leave cyclic although options on that and release when you want and it's back to your chosen mode. Thanks for the reply , when your at the field next is there any chance you could get a video of how it works in flight, be interesting to see how fast it reacts/climbs. I'd love to try it but the cost puts me off, hypothetical? if your going in a fast circle inverted and u have a brain fart I'm presuming it will not stop the forward momentum only level and climb?

sry for lots of ?s maj

Video is tricky unless I meet up with some mates so maybe Sunday. There are lots of bailout vids out there as I looked in to it a lot before spending the $ I'm only day one with it flying in Rigid so can't really offer in depth out there knowledge more what I've learnt. I put over an hour on the system today and so far very happy. Bail out is next to try. There are lots of options and variation on the amount of pitch etc it will use. Your right inertia won't be overcome in that sense but it will level and climb. Price wise ebay has some good deals from a German store, good saving over UK which doesn't seem to have any anyway and shipping only 3 days.

There's quite a few demo videos on YouTube, though it's always difficult to fully appreciate how good something is until you try it yourself.

I've got two Kasama helis with 3X units and they're super solid and very tuneable. Ben from Kasama UK has just put a 3SX on a Dune and the recovery looks great, it would also be great for beginners as it can be set to self level in normal flight, a bit like a co-axial.

              Here's a good recovery video:

Are you on Futuba? If so simply follow the vids on the sticky on hf.
If you have the head gain on a dial this will overight what is on the other tab. I fly with it on a dial until I'm happy which is usually a flight or 2 now then disable the dial as I then use this aux 1 for the bailout.

The bailout is superb but as said it will not stop momentum.

It levels and climbs as quick as you chose.
Default is 9 and this is rapid. I set 4.
I think the rate of climb is proportional to the speed of the flip. It seemed to climb much quicker after the flip on 9 than it does on 4 but 4 for me is fine and has got me out of trouble many times

+1 what Ben said on his post.
Futaba tx is very easy to set up with. I have 3 units and I love them, have saved me lots ££££ but it want save you all the time, all depends how low you are and how quick you pull the switch.
Spectrum tx is a bit more complicated I found when I set up one for a mate. But there is few videos out there to help you with the set up.

It's a great unit, well worth the £££

Thanks and will change to 4. Having flown in rigid only at the moment I'm impressed already feels really nice and sharp. Yet to try the bail out but seems ok on the bench.

Once you got confidence in it your laughing.

I do rail slides and also res when showing it work and it's spot on every time.

Triple checked everything on the bench. Went out and battled the wind today and what can I say other than it just works. It's very positive in cyclic but no overshooting or anything weird, I have set 5 on pitch gives a nice rate of climb. Nice to know its there in the background should I need it.
