  • Gpro Tail Parameter

Now I've got my heli's perfect setup with Gpro including tail all that's left to do is slight speed up of tail stops without loosing any other feel to the tail.
What is the best parameter to use that will work on firming up the stops...?

Can't seem to upload the pic with tail parameters so have to have another once I'm home.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

    Hi.

I've been adjusting the tail on my 450l and found the best values to adjust on the gpro were rudder stop and I gain and pretty happy with it now.

      Hey Jim.

As above, I Gain will help improve the stops from a pirouette as well as the stop gains.

I always go back to this on the Vstabi web site to refresh my memory of the two options:

P = proportional gain, compares the rate given by rx with the existing and the difference will be multiplied with this and the gyro gain, output to servo.

I = integral, heading gain, compares the angle difference over time and gives out the difference to the servo multiplied by this value and the gyro gain

Stop gain is like more P gyro gain at a tail stop. When Vbar detects a stop, the gain will be increased during the stop to make it more crisp. A is with and B against the torque. But ... this values have only effects when the tail won't reach the aero dynamical limits of course. You can try to increase about 10 points one side, try and then the other side. Using bank switching you will be able to test out and cross check in one flight.

What model you trying to improve the stopping on?

Read your post whilst still out flying & went 10% maybe not enough as stops are very relaxed otherwise perfect.

Hi Ian its my 5 & 600, this is where its difficult for me to explain, doing ie circuits the tail tracks perfect with my stick inputs the tail also holds perfect with 3D maneuvers but if i release the tail stick quick i don't get the sudden stop but tail still tracks perfect if that makes sense.
There's no bounce on the tail & if i pitch pump tails holds solid but as soon as i play anymore with parameters its like its effecting what ive already got.

          Hey Buddy.

Next time I am up the field (I will be coming soon, promise) I will have a look but I think I know what you mean.

Try raising the I Gain, this effects the tail hold when not requested to move. P Gain affects the gain value when the pilot is requesting a yaw.

Arr not sure if you know Ian im not with the MK club anymore but still fly locale, Ill give the I Gain a try but what i should have done is make a note of each parameter ive tried instead of just picking at random.

Yep your right Mike but when you've done each one dozens of times you would think I'd be an expert but then one parameter seems to effect another, taken weeks to perfect what ive got & don't want to disturb the setup but ill try the I Gain as Ian mentioned.
