I'm using a AR6200 RX. Silly i know but of the two forward cylic servo's (what one is aliron and what is pitch?) excuse my stupid questions!

SENS/Ch5 is the tail gyro gain, it controls the sensivity of the gyro to yaw, and is programmed in the TX via the gyro/gear switch/menu.
PIT/Ch6 controls front right servo. Pit is short for pitch but really it's a bit of a misnomer.

In that case would it be best if i programmed the tail to my "aux 2 / twisting thingy" switch?

Got me on that one.! i always thought whenever you set up a heli you start with pitch being left & alie right on RX connection then TX setup may require this reversed, now manuals tend to show both servo's being pitch/alie.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

Well, I use a DX6i so don't have that option and I believe the DX7s is different, but I use the gear channel because I can set 2 rates and choose at the flick of the gear switch. Having found those 2 ideal rates you won't want to be messing with a dial.

                  Hey.

No, I wouldn't use a rotary dial for gyro gain control. Reason being on some radios the channel travel is broken down into two halves, one half controls heading hold gain 0 ~ 100% and the other half (51~100%) controls rate mode gain 0 ~ 100%. With a switch you can easily set each side to one mode or the other, but a rotary switch could allow you to accidentally roll the channel output out of heading hold mode for instance and give you more trouble.

As Jims said above normally the Aileron servo is the right hand side servo and the pitch servo is on the left side of the mechanics. The newer 3GX requires this be to correctly done, the 3G is not so critical, but worth getting into the habit of doing for future builds.

Oooh, Liam, apologies for the duff left/right info there, Jim and Ian are of course right, and I must get my failing memory seen to! Sorry! It's been too long since I set one up, I should use that as an excuse for a new toy....

But with Coolice you're in the best hands as far as 3G goes.

Is that the right when looking to the nose or from the tail?
                      Sorry for the stupid question!

                        Evening Mate.

From the tail, so you're looking in the direction the nose is pointing.

                          Ok,
I take it the rear servo (not the rudder) is the elevator.
Thanks for all of your help!

                            Hey.

Yes it is mate. Sometimes the elevator servo is at the front, but on the 450 it's the rear most servo.
