      Hey.

All my models except my 450 PRO have dialled in great with the 3G system, no ifs, no buts, just a good mechanical setup on the machine to start with, fit the 3G then setup as per the instructions and fly.
My 450 PRO while flying has never really felt good in fast forward flight either inverted or upright, so as a test I've done this mod to it's gyro sensor as a project.
So far I've only tested hovered at an indoor meet last night, couldn't really raise the gains as has been mentioned but until I get the model outside I can't comment on any major gains.

Certainly an interesting subject and it's good to hear what others find if they attempt this modification.

            Well....WoW! What a difference.

Went out quickly this morning, and managed to put 4 quick packs through it.I Have upped the aileron gain to 90, whilst the elevator is on 85.(Increased from 70) The pots are at the 12 o'clock, and gains adjusted via the Link. I have also upped the tail a few points. Still time to experiment though with settings though.

Wobbles which had been there before, especially during backwards rolling have gone. Due the the increased gains, the helicopter is far more stable in hovers. The whole locked in feeling has improved dramatically. Usual elevator and aileron tic tocs stay in place.

I'm actually quite happy that I have stuck with the 3g for the moment...(Mainly due to financial reasons!)... But this mod is most definately worth doing. I will be modding my other 3g in the Beam later.

AGAIN WOW this mod really works i left the settings i had on my 250 which made it pretty usless as far as flying around was concerned but now with the mod i had a more stable locked in heli , i could perform flips and rolls more confidently , but also due to having the gains so low made it really slow on the cyclic so now i need to increase the gains and try again which i hope to test in the week but deffo going to do the 700,600,550

I did mind and found it better then it was.
Until I upped the gain when it shook like mad so down the gain again.
Mind is still not as locked in as it was.
Not sure what else to try?
I can see the model is not happy.

James Moon said it look bad so not just me

Also Boggy saw the bad shakes

How has everyone done their mod?

Noticed that on HF, there was a mention of just to silicone the three sensors together, though another chap seemed to have filled up the whole sensor case with the stuff...literally till it oozes out the case.

Myself, I have just done enough to silicone the three sensors together(a square block ), and not too much that it would touch the case. I also to cut the tabs out of the inside of the case.

I also put several small blobs on the underside of the base of the circuit board.

Chuck it my way and I will see if it's my sensor or my heli

I did mine with the silicon the first chap on helifreak did but I did use a little more then him but not as much as filling it up.

I think mine is caused by the engine which sounds and looks rich but gets to hot if I lean it out any more

And why should it be void? You're allowed to build and modify stuff, only thing you're restricted to do is modifying radio equipment. However your 3G warranty will be void!

Maybe I am wrong as far as the insurance goes, is it worth taking the chance though, I for one would like it kept well away from me and the pits, I cannot see how tampering with and bodging things like this is the sensible thing to do, just get one that works, there are loads of good units out there, I have only ever seen a heli hovered with this align gear on it, does anyone actually fly with it.
