Do you have any binding anywhere? I'm not sure but I am sure I read that the resting current draw on one setup in the states was pulling 7A. Obviously they had some issues there might be worth checking though. I believe the 2 in 1 is rated at 6A?

I will check, but to be honest, there's nothing there to bind on the head. Tail is silky smooth. All pushrods checked for correct lengths etc.

And unless you modify it to use two power out leads a standard servo plug is only good for about 3 amps. I have read people are using the 2 in 1 and it is working but I would not put my fiath in just a single servo plug.

Thanks for all the suggestions, went through the set up at least five times. Changed to the long lead (secured with a couple of blobs of epoxy), made sure the tail was exactly centered before entering the set up mode.

            And guess what.............she flies

Have not been that nervous to lift off since my MFA 500, 20 odd years ago. Seem to have a slight wag or oscillation on the tail, only very slight, but it's there. Turned gyro gain down to 60%, but didn't get to try it before I had to go. Anyone mounting their's on two pads, or using any other foam pad ?.

Absolutely no other issues, just sat there in the hover. Gave it a couple of good full power climbs to see what it was like, the power is mental.

Still never found what I did wrong, could be a faulty lead (might pull it apart and have a look).

            Cheers,

            Simon

Ps. Sucessfully maidened my Vision 50 comp as well. Put 3 tanks through it, very impressed so far.....super stable and smooth.

              Good result.

              You are correct.

I mounted mine with two pads and it was perfect first flight no trimming required on tonymy 600 pro

Might have to get some more pads then. My machine is pretty smooth, no visible vibes or fuel foaming, but maybe it just needs that little bit more insulation.

I wonder if the gyro pads are the same material, I have a few of those knocking about already.

                  Cheers,

Had the same with the tail on mine Sunday the gain made no difference unfortunately the flight was cut short through a ball link failingi have now fitted two pads and will try again once it is rebuilt

Good to hear it now flys.

I'm NOT a betting man but in this case i would bet it was the lead.
The problem you described about the servos not reacting to correct movements while walking to the flight line is the key. Been reading the 3G threads on HF and with tests ppl have done thats exactly what the 3G + faulty lead does.

As in, with a bad sensor connection once the connection is broken (even for a split second) the gyros stop working but servos will still work, and a reset is required to get the 3G armed again. Many have crashed because of this.

                      Peace
