Does anyone know if this bouncing issue occurs on the larger heli's?

Andy - can you check the Align flybarless manual for 450 kit - what does it say about cyclic servo's type and speed ?

I've bought a set of FL-760 electronics, planning to fit RJX conversion to my 450 pro, but just realised my 450 pro has HS65 analog servo's (I swapped out DS410 due to concerns about reliability), now realise this may have stitched me up - the 700 kit user guide states digital servos quicker than 0.10 secs are required, obviously I have analog servo's 0.11sec, but not sure what options are as HS5065 are too slow, as are DS410 ??

Just saw your photos and you are using 5065, so clearly it works OK, but I am hoping the 450 kit manual says something different in case I can stick with the analog servo's at least to try it out, don't really want to drop £75 on digital servo's just to try it?

        Hi James..

The manual is all in Chinese

...But from deduction, it does ask for 0.09 to 60deg servo speed, and 2.2kg cm torque... Which looks like 410m and the 5065 should be run on 6v.

Unsure if it does ask for digital servos, as I can't translate that part of the manual. What I have read on other forums though, is that you do need digitals for it.

Last time I saw, Inwood models do the best price for the hitecs 5065 digitals, and you should be able to sell your hs65 and only have to chip in a bit more to get the 5065. Hope this helps..

Thanks Andy, I still need to find the RJX FBL head in stock somewhere, so think I will fire it up with the HS65 to check it seems OK before investing more, then will look at getting HS5065s from inwoods.
          Thanks again.

Update: I have no willpower, ordered the RJX head kit from the US, as couldn't find it in the UK, also ordered HS5065 servo's from inwood models (best price), and the servo programmer for them - oh well, you can't take it with you !

Another quick update. Had a few flights yesterday and today.

The gain on the elevator and aileron gains are both down to just below the 9 O'clock position on the control unit. Probably equates to around just below 30%.

Most of the bounce has gone, and it feels alot better now. The locked in feeling has diminished a little, but big loops, backwards circuits still feel more locked in than with the standard flybar.

As a whole it feels very much like a flybarred heli in other arenas.. Going into other moves, as an example..piedishes/funnels still require control through it.. unlike the Vbar which goes into them and stays locked in with little input.

Overall fairly pleased with this.. Probably a more worthwhile purchase once the 450 fbl kits come out and can be purchased as a package(If they do?) rather than a separate purchase.

What are you using for gyro gain - similar numbers to GP750 ?

The gain has been pretty similar to what I had on my gp750. On the dx7 it is showing 53%.

Tail seems pretty good with it.

Managed to get a bit of flying this afternoon!

Just an update on the system..

Manual recommended 12.5 on the servo arms.. With this length, doing any 3d, the system had the dreaded nod from elevator, and continuous rolls, the heli would start to wobble. Knocking down the gain to an acceptable level to alleviate this would just make the heli lose its 'locked' in feeling...and actually made doing funnels near on impossible for me..

A tip from 'gravitykills' on here was to shorten the cyclic arms, and this was reduced to 10mm. I have now been able to increase the gain quite considerably.. it now has a better locked in feeling, and the heli is far more pleasurable to fly again. Funnels are back again aswell

I'm now pretty happy with the system as a whole. Keeps it's tracking in flight very well.

..Do I think it is better than when it was flybarred....??? Well, In my type of flying, I think so.... I'll think I'll give it a two thumbs up

                    Thanks for the info

Thanks for all the good info and personal experiences about the 3G guys. I've been rebuilding my old G4 (early version of the Outrage G5 frame made for Align running gear) to run on 6s and bought the 3G from Helipross to try out. I'm a very sedate sport flyer and am enjoying the new set up very much. I have found the 3G very easy to put in and set up , so much simpler than a conventional flybar system. I have not owned a FBL heli before and it has taken me a few flights to get used to the different characteristics in response. with my particular setup it is both more stable than running a flybar with weights and more responsive, i enjoy the big heli feel on the 450 size.
i put in Ino-lab HG-D202HB on the cyclic as they were reasonably priced down this way.
