Well, Curiosity has got the better of me, and I’ve gone ahead an ordered one of Aligns 3G Flybarless systems for my 450 Sport.
Having tried gaui fbl system, and currently running two vbars, one in my protos and one in the logo 500, I really wanted to see how this system does compare. Will hopefully in the next few days get the system programmed, and weather permitting, get a test flight out of it.
As usual with Align, comes in a pretty box, and packaged very well.
NOTHING seems to be threadlocked, so dismantling, cleaning, and threadlocking is a must with this
One thing I would have liked to see is a longer threaded portion on the control ball/arm which attaches onto the blade grips. I have a feeling, that in event of a crash, because the thread does not thread further into the arm, there is a likelihood that it would pull the ball out and strip the threads in the blade grip.. Time will tell.
No real weight advantage of fitting the system. Weight before fitting without lipo 198gr… and weight after 196gr.
Lovely Box
