3gx setup help

Hi all

i am setting up my trex 500, however am getting a little confused with the 3gx

i have updated the firmware to 3.1

the issue I'm having is setting zero pitch, I can set the pitch to be zero with the blades straight, but when I start to rotate the blades the pitch changes and no longer is zero, is this ment to happen

i am using the align digital pitch gauge

any other tips on setting up
up all the servo horns are at 90 degrees

Is the 3gx in DIR mode?
Sounds like you have cyclic inputs in or a bent shaft. Is the heli new?

Yes I followed the instructions on the laptop and held set button down while booting

The heli is new, first time I have built and set one up however

The tx is a Futaba 8fg btw

Check your swash is level. any tilt will show as blade movement when you rotate the head.

Yep. As Joe said. Have you used a swash leveler? You need all the links at the right lengths.

if your swashplate is level and you still got pitch on one blade you need to adjust the blade links to get the odd one to 0 degrees mate ...

When using the pitch gauge first sit it on heli frame then set zero then check blade pitch for aile then do same again for elev

The freddy can fly are good source of info , I set my 3gx up using these videos . I work down in pompy (hilsea) if you need help on to happy to show you.
