The point I was trying to make is that if its possible to make the hardware for such little money, why havent we seen the price of FBL systems come down as the volume goes up?....

I'd be interested to see how much mikado re invest in the software development cycle. Hardware costs nothing ... The software on the other hand.... Think how long it's taken for the vortex to come to market from the first time the hardware was shown....

Hi All, I have not read all the posts, but I set up a fubar for a friend at the field on Sunday using two sats it was on a trex 550. The heli flew very well on the unit and felt more stable than my v bared 550 . The only problem I saw was that it did not piro flat sort of crabbed when you put tail inputs in a bit like my gau vbar when it had a incorrectly fitted circuit board but not as bad. The set up screens don't work exactly the same as a vbar you have to come out of set up to check some of the alterations.

im very tempted myself, and nearly got hold of a ka bar at one point, but they suddenly got very hard to get hold of.....

I have a full size blueline vbar on one of my helis, and it is lovely....

I think Mikado dropped the Mini V by about £50 so they have reduced theres not sure about the V Bar itself though. I think in terms of volume it's still a niche market and with so many different controllers the relative volumes must be fairly low I would have thought.

Offers from Hobbyking around £50 for a unit will do nothing for the others sales and I reckon they will be reduced once the flight reports start to come out, there will always be those that wouldn't trust an alternative and will always buy the original unit but there are probably many more that will buy the cheaper alternative.

I agree with that but taking the Fu as an example,people have opened them up and put up pics of the innards and say the quality is very high.

Imho seeing as most of the electronics we fly come out of the Far East anyway i dont trust YEP,Turnigy,Hobbywing etc any less than say Kontronic.

My FuBar is here and I'm ready to do the conversion on my Raptor E550.
I'm not sure if my Savox SC 0252 servos will be suitable for fbl though?
Does anybody no if they will be ok with the FuBar?

Any servos will do analog or digital, as long has it has enough torque. According to the data sheet, this servo is a high torque one.

Very keen to hear you Guys reports on the Fu Bar once you have flown them.i have yet to read a bad review,even from V Bar owners,i have put two more flights on my 6HV this morning and although its very windy i am confident in saying that it really is identical to the V Bar.

Will try to get a short video over the weekend,not that they prove much.

I will have a proper flight on my 450 this monday ( weather permitting ) and will report back. All I can say is, it is very stable and I love the bank switching on a 450 to make it tame. All my helis are on vbar so it will be a great comparison even though it will be a small heli.

Incredibly gusty conditions,worse than i would normally even think about flying in,also 3 Year old Nanotech packs so not the best either but a bit of video of it in action filmed on Iphone.

Ok, just mounted the FuBar on my Raptor and loaded up the software from the link in a previous post.
Can anyone please help me with the basic set up wizard? Can i use one DMSX sat or do i need two & which option do i choose DSM-X satalites 11 or 22ms
I currently have my YEP 100 ESC with built in BEC in channel RXB. is this correct?
How do i find out which servo goes where on the software as it only shows a Futaba example.

I would put 2 Sats on a 550 size model dsmx Sats will be hi res as 11ms

Great flying, it goes to show that even with my limited skills Im confident that the unit itself is a very capable flybarless system and the bonus part is, it has a great price.
