My mini FU Bar was delivered today and I can confirm it works with the VStabi software. I will set it up on a 450 and fly it tomorrow.

Waveydavey, I am looking forward to seeing it and hearing your opinion on it.

The mini FU Bar only has 4 screws holding it together, it would have been rude not to... All components are covered with conformal coating though.

That doesn't look like a mini vbar but the gyros look the same Invensys ones. the goo to prevent the chips falling off is a good idea.

As I've said before, for nice smooth banked turns etc give me a FB Heli any day! But for me the FBL wins over on 3D manoeuvres for its pin point accuracy

Totally agree with this. Just converted my 500 to FBL and find that smooth sport flying is just not as nice but flips, rolls, piro's are just so solid on fbl

Steve, the QFNs have a large center pad anyway. There is no way for them to fall off. I suspect this is part of their copy protection. They also lasered the part numbers of the chips off as you probably noticed. Kind of ironic, isn't it? They want to protect the copy from being copied!

Yes Angelos, I thought it was a bit strange that they felt the need to cover the chips up. I think of all the clone FBL controllers this is the most blatant copy, it doesn't even come with the software to set it up and its impossible to set it up without the software for one thing.

Anyway setup was quite simple and its now RTF.

Here is a pic of the installation, I can't get to the PC link socket, but on a 450 I couldn't really see any other way to mount it, wiring will be tidied later. (or not, I've never been one for bothering about it)

From what I've read it's sbus compatable to.

Certainly has SBUS settings in the software, but I'm on Spektrum so I wouldn't know I intend to test it with Spektrum Sats too in the future when I can get hold of some.

Well it flys, and it flys really well, reminded of the feel I had when I first went fbl with the original BeastX. No unwanted tendencies just fly out of the box as we like it. I haven't even begun to tweak and play, tail is fine, needs a bit of work with the stops, cyclics are lovely, just how I like it. The original BeastX gave me a certain feel and position on the stick that I love and this one is no different. Only thing I would say is that piro optimisation isn't up with the best of them but it never was the BeastX's strong point.

So although I would never say get one as I don't recommend what people spend their money on, I can hand on heart say it does what it says on the tin, and very well indeed.

That's good to hear waveydavey, the mini FU-Bar has got me tracking down vibes. The log is full of extreme vibration errors and I have a cyclic wobble with 50% cyclic gain.

Odd cos the 450 pro flew fine with the AR7200BX on it.

I think it could be an issue with the torque tube or tube drive gears.

There are none of the bells and whistles of V3 and I've yet to connect to see if I can update it but I'll give it a go and let you know. But I have to say at my level of flying I'm not missing anything.

I thought you were very brave to try it on a 600. It sounds very good. Thanks.

The thing is I know my 600 like the freckles on the back of my hand and I know how it flies, and I know how it feels with the BeastX so it just made sense to be able to compare it like for like. Some people don't like how the BeastX feels so this unit won't suit, and this may sound a bit odd but I'm seriously toying with offing the Vortex on my 700 and replacing it with a BeastX, it awoke the feel I had when I first flew the 600 with the BeastX which put a big scary smile on my ugly mug
