  • Vbar 700E maiden didnt go well

Hi All I went with a 921 receiver as i didn't like thefact the vbar would still fly happily with a sat down. So with stock setting just put the gains on 90 size settings, The maiden ! well it wasterrible, the model just felt wrong rolls seem to change rate sometimes itwould start to roll slowly other times fast ?? when i pitched it up into a taildown stance it was like i gave it a dose of pos pitch then backed it off. Inthe hover it felt twitchy then as you put more stick in tamer. I really did nothave much confidence in towards the end it was as if i started a move and wouldinitialy add a bit extra then back it off. I then picked my beasted 700E upthat was lovely smooth and planted. I really thought i was loosing it . I haveflown 3g units ant beast units both reacted similar the beast was more exactand handled the wind better. I am going to take a laptop to the field next timeand have a play but I now don't know if the unit is faulty ?

You have the Pro version? If so, can you upload the log.

    Can youupload your setup file.

Hi this should be it seems to have a lot of raised vibration levels ?? I did spool it at the start of the flight then hit hold then spooled it up again there is a few mins walk out to the flying square and a few mins back. It seems to show raised vibration level while i was walking out with it I powered it up in the pits and walked ou to the flight line then connected the batts ?

There are quite a few, can you see/feel any vibes if and when spooling up without blades?

Are you able to take a ScreenShot of the Setup Page (the one with the sliders).

No The model feels really smooth it was not spooled up untill i had got to the flight line so the first 1,2 mins i was carrying it unless the log only starts when it detects multiple inputs ?

Definitely change Style to 100, feels terrible much below that IMO.

                Try that and go again.

Brand new v-bar installation. Did you turn on the optimisers and carry out an optimisation flight?

                    Hello,

if collective and cyclic (74 and 81, respectively) are set up as intended, you have too long servo arms.
Maybe the power supply is a bit weak, too (guessing).

You could post at vbar.info. They'll ask you for pictures of the setup.

If it were my heli, what I'd do is get the mechanics 100 % "in tune" before starting to twiddle parameters.
When the mechanics + electrical setup are correct, you can put in just about any numbers, and the V-bar will fly decently enough.

Hi the mechs I think are spot on i will add some pics to show the level of detail on my helis. They may be usefull for anyone building a 700E for cable routes etc. I did not do an optimisation flight, The heli was used I updated it to 5.2 after i completly rebuit the heli and rewired it as it was not as i wanted it. I should have flown with the prev settings but went straight for the update. The reg is 8 amp I did go through the vbar set up several time and used a swash leveling tool in pro mode.Cheers Jason

It's hard to see in picture 6, but I think you've got the bell cranks in the inner hole, and the elevator arm in the outer hole.
                        Please check...

I use a little bit shorter servo arms and longer blade grips (assuming yours are Align), but it shouldn't be a total mess.
The DS610 are quite power hungry. 8 amps per servo should be sufficient check if this combination works for anybody else.

edit here's a picture from my own 700. The elevator arm uses the inner hole.

8 amps per servo may sound absurd, but the helitron regulator I use is designed for 50 amps peak for a reason...

You don't need to strap down the sensor, I've 3 V-bars 2 on nitro and one on electric and none are strapped.

Hi the elev is on the outer hole the previous owner told me it worked well in that config ? He was ment to have finished 2nd in the grass roots comp with it. I will move it to the inner hole, Thinking about it the resolution cannot be even as it will have more travel on the elev for the same servo movement ,I did level the swash top middle and bottom and they were not that far out.
