Hi guys as said here is going to be a review of the TT56 redline engine from thunder tiger, I was using the TT53 redline but as it got a bit old and rusted i decided to buy a 56 reather than the repair the 53 as the 56 is at a very nice price and so are the spares.
Upon opening the box from fastlads i thought they sent me the wrong engine as the box was acctually a TT53 box, but after diving in really quick all was ok and it was the 56,
Ive included pics form opening the box and after installation in my 600le,
The engine comes nicly parkaged along with the carb, allen keys, mini spanner, glow plug, instructions and some decals.
The actual engine is not much diffrent to the 53, its got a bigger head and slightly bigger pistion and displacenent. But the biggest diffrence was the size of the carb, its alot bigger inner diameter which im sure will increase power or torque.
The machining quality is very good although some screws were a bit tight when screwing in.
You also get supplied with 2 head shims, i fitted the thinnest as im using 20% and there is a thicker one to use with 30%.
The engine accepted the clutch and fan with no fitting issues, the carb is screwed onto the engine with 2 bolts i used green threadlock, just dont over tighten these otherwise you might get a sticcky carb!!!
So thats mots of the assembly. Fitting the fan shround and engine into the heli was pretty straight forward although you need to unscrew the whole needle valve assembly to get the engine above the carbon bottom plate.
The engine fits very well in the 600 and i look forward to breaking in this engine and playing with it, i will update when i get it going and if i occur any problems, hopefully it will be an improvement over the TT53 which i found very good
P.s im using the 56 with the standard 53 Highflow Pipe
Cheers Chris
