  • Hyper 50 lean run

    Hi had this a few times now. What might make a hyper 50 run lean and die when approximately the same amount of fuel is left in the tank? I had just fitted a header tank and replaced both clunk line and fuel line and filter? I have uped the nitro to 20% trying to help with cooling but I am starting to push the heli more but its getting frustrating now as its not my dumb thumbs causing the pain of repair each time

    Please help ray: ray:

    split in the tank, split in the lines, split in the clunk line, front bearing leaking, poor tune, too hot a plug (ive swapped mine to OS7's in this heat)
    Some say my left nipple is the shape of a Raptor canopy.......... And that for fun I chase sheep in wellies 3 sizes too big. All I know is I am 3D Clod

      Hi Kev I had not thought of the plug nor the front bearing but then this has been going on for a while.

              Nick, get off this thread, is discussion for nitros mate!!!!

              But Nick and Kev is right Chris. Also check the nipple in the muffler haven't come loose and not delivering enough pressure to the tank!

                More likely to be too long, if it is too long could when inverted and flip upright, the clank will stay on the top!
                Worth a look mate.

                  If your unsure about fixing it, ill have a look at it for ya.

                  But Id recommend throwing 2 new bearings and a ring in there and a new plug and reset to stock settings and start again. If your unsure I did a guide on here somewhere, granted I did it on a 90 but theyre the same inside just smaller

                  EDIT its here --->http://www.rcheliaddict.co.uk/engine...ce-people.html

                        Nick might be right just started stripping it down and I think the clunk might be fractionally long as it drags on the back of the tank slightly , settings 1 1/4 turns out os8 plug and now on 20% rapicon new stock align pipe. While its out will be doing the bearings but it does not have ring fitted ?

                            Needle sounds fine if a little rich for this weather, pipe and plug. The rear bearing doesn't have any covers fitted if thats what you mean. When you do the clunk, cut a groove in the end of the clunk weight so that if it does suck to the tank, fuel can get in through the groove if you know what I mean

                              Clunk line should just be normal fuel tube and not the nasty thin stuff sold as clunk line. That stuff is so thin wall that at high power the pressure in the tank from the exhaust can squash it flat and starve the fuel.
                              Normal fuel tube might seem a bit stiff but once its been in the fuel a while it will go more limp.
                              Always keep an eye on the header tank for any air gap building in there - any of that is a sign of trouble.
